Barnstead
Library Book Sale
The Oscar Foss Memorial Library in Center Barnstead
will be holding a book sale on Thursday, May 7th from 5-8 p.m., Friday, May
8th from 2-5 p.m. and Saturday, May 9thfrom 9 a.m. to noon.
We have not
had a book sale for over a year, so there are LOTS of books and items to
choose from. Paperbacks, hardcovers, VHS tapes and DVDs, children’s books
and more. Get yourself all set for summer with many a treasure or two!
The sale will be held in the meeting room of the library during REGULAR
library hours. Parking is behind the library and if you have any questions,
please call us at 269-3900.
If you are planning on making a donation of
books before the sale we respectfully ask that you NOT donate textbooks or
old encyclopedias, Readers Digest Condensed or books that are NOT in good
condition. We also ask that you NOT put your donations into the bookdrop or
leave them on the library steps. If books are put into the bookdrop, this
quickly fills the bookdrop and patrons are unable to make returns of their
library items and items left on the steps, etc. get damaged.
We are open
Monday, 2-8 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday, 5 to 6
p.m.; Friday, 2 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon. Books can be brought
into the library at that time. Thanks for your understanding. See you at the
sale!

moved to Canada and attended NBBI. Since graduating in 1996 Keith and Beth
have served at NBBI. Keith is on the faculty, as well as, serving as the
Assistant Campus Pastor and Married Student coordinator.

Can Drive Clean
Up
It’s that time of year! The snows have gone, the grass is greening up
and the buds on the trees are ready to burst forth with the promise of
summer ahead. It is also the time of year that many of us get out to pick up
the sides of our roads, collecting the litter, cans and bottles that have
gathered over the winter.
Friends of the Suncook River would like to
encourage everyone who lives in the watershed to help clean up our roadside
neighborhoods by collecting cans to be recycled. During the week of May 3rd
through 9th, why not pick up the trash along the roads in your neighborhood?
Collect the cans separately and drop the cans off between 10:00 a.m. and
12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9th. There will be two drop off centers: the
Barnstead Church on the corner of Maple St. and Rt. 28 in Barnstead, and at
the can trailer located at Webster Park on Rt. 28 in Epsom.
Swap your
cans for snacks and drinks and you’ll be entered into a raffle to win a
variety of prizes including locally made fresh maple syrup and t-shirts.
If you need trash bags or would like further information, contact the
Friends of the Suncook River chair, Mary Fougere at 269-4264 or email:
