Barnstead
Library Book Sale
The Oscar Foss Memorial Library in Center Barnstead
will be holding a book sale on Thursday, October 21st from 5-8 pm,
Friday, October 22nd from 2-5 pm and Saturday October 23rd from 9am to
noon.
We have not had a book sale for over a year so there are LOTS
of books and items to choose from: paperbacks, hardcovers, VHS
tapes & DVD’s, children’s books and more.
The sale will be held in
the meeting room of the library during REGULAR library hours.
Parking is behind the library and if you have any questions, please call
us at 269-3900.
If you are planning on making a donation of books
before the sale we respectfully ask that you NOT donate textbooks or old
encyclopedias, readers digest condensed or books that are NOT in good to
excellent condition. We also ask that you NOT put your donations
into the book drop or leave them on the library steps. If books
are put into the book drop, this quickly fills the book drop and patrons
are unable to make returns of their library items and items left on the
steps, etc. get damaged. We are open Monday 2-8pm, Tuesday &
Wednesday 10-5pm, Thursday 5-8pm, Friday 2-5pm and Saturday 9am to noon.
Books can be brought into the library at the time. Thanks for your
understanding. See you at the sale!
Meet All
The Candidates
Democrats/Republicans/Independents
Event
The
November 2nd election is just around the corner. Voters are
looking forward to November 3rd, when they won’t be pestered with any
more phone calls, TV and radio commercials, and lawn signs.
But,
before they can get to November 3rd, they all have to decide who they’re
going to vote for on November 2nd. With that in mind, the
Barnstead-Alton Republican Committee (BARC) is sponsoring a Meet ALL the
Belknap County Candidates night.
That’s right, ALL candidates running
for office in Belknap County are invited to this non-partisan event –
Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.
And, ALL voters
regardless of political affiliation are invited to hear ALL the
candidates.
This event will offer a great opportunity for you, the
voter, to make up your mind about who you feel will best represent your
interests. Each candidate will have approximately 3 minutes to brief the
audience about their background, their philosophies, and their stand on
the issues. They will also have their campaign materials to hand out.
This event will NOT be a debate, and ALL candidates will be given the
same opportunity to introduce themselves.
“Meet ALL the Candidates
Night” will be held on Wednesday, October 20, at 6:30 pm at J.J.
Goodwin’s Restaurant (upstairs), 769 Suncook Valley Rd (Rt 28), Center
Barnstead - (603) 269-8300.
If you wish, you may arrive early for
dinner (at your option) at 5:30 pm; the event will begin promptly at
6:30 pm.
If you’re a candidate, this is a great opportunity to speak
to potential supporters.
And, if you’re a voter, you’ll have the
opportunity at this event to hear from, and question, a number of
candidates “live and in person” so that you can decide who you wish to
support and vote for in the November 2 election.
This event is being
presented as a public service to residents of Alton, Barnstead, and
surrounding Belknap County towns. There is no admission charge,
however, we do ask that children not be brought to this event so that as
many guests as possible can be accommodated.
For more information,
see the BARC website at
www.BARC-NewHampshire.com or send an email to
[email protected].
