On Sunday
evening January 12th at 6:00 PM at the Center Barnstead Christian Church
in Center Barnstead, NH, Bill Blount, President of Blount
Communications, will be sharing pictures and stories of his recent trip
to both South Korea and Viet Nam. While in Seoul, South Korea, Bill and
his daughter, Shayne, attended the dedication of Far East Broadcasting’s
new 30 million dollar broadcast facility, which beams Christian
programming throughout South Korea and surrounding areas.
Additionally, while there, they visited the DMZ between North and South
Korea. At the DMZ, they toured one of the tunnels that the North
Koreans had built to invade South Korea, which had the capability of
moving thousands of troops through in an hour.
After
leaving South Korea, they travelled to Ho Chi Min City, in Viet Nam and
toured the war museum. They also visited several ministry areas for Far
East Broadcasting, including a trip by boat in the Mekong Delta area.
One of the people they met was a former spy against South Vietnam
during the Viet Nam war. Bill will share his story on what happened to
him after the war was over, including the assassination attempt on his
life.
All are
welcome to attend, and there will be a dessert fellowship to follow. If
you need further information you may call the church at 603-269-8831 or

BARC’G To
Meet
The
Barnstead-Alton-Gilmanton Republican Committee (BARC’G) has announced
that their next monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 14 at
6:30 pm at J.J. Goodwin’s Restaurant (upstairs dining room), 769 Suncook
Valley Highway (Rt 28), in Center Barnstead.
This month
the Committee will turn its attention to the 2014 elections – town-wide
(non-partisan) in March, and state-wide in November. The guest speaker
for the meeting will be announced shortly, but all candidates - that’s
right, ALL candidates - for office are invited to address the
Committee’s members to share their thoughts and ideas. BARC’G meetings
are open to Republicans and like-minded Independents from Alton,
Barnstead, and Gilmanton, and any other towns in New Hampshire. The
meetings offer a great opportunity to meet new people or to renew old
friendships while at the same time discussing the Republican Party’s
renewed focus on grass roots politics and party unity.
Per their
usual meeting format, if you’re interested in having dinner (at your
option) or wish to socialize before the meeting, plan to arrive as early
as 5:30pm.
And, with
jobs and the economy still an issue, there are many who are having a
difficult time making ends meet. So, with this in mind, the Committee
asks that each attendee bring a non-perishable food item (cans of soup,
tuna fish, etc, etc) to the meeting for distribution to local food
pantries.
