Barnstead Parks And Recreation Summer Concert Series
Please join Barnstead Parks and Recreation in welcoming Wall of Sound to
the summer concert stage this Saturday, August 13. You can expect
an eclectic mix of classic, progressive, and southern rock music from
bands such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Supertramp, Eagles, and Journey,
and artists like Elton John, Billy Joel, Colin Hayes and Sting.
These performers have left an indelible mark on our lives and branded
our memories. Barnstead resident Scott Michaud, a keyboardist, singer,
and songwriter, has put together a special show for a hot August night
to pay tribute to the great rock bands and artists that have influenced
him and so many others.
Come and pull up your chair or blanket as we take this musical journey
together. This free show starts at 6:00 pm at the Barnstead Parade
Grounds. The Barnstead Historical Society will be on hand offering
concessions. As always, smoking and alcohol are prohibited on the
grounds. See you at the show!
Letter
Residents of Barnstead, Belmont, Gilmanton,
Tilton:
My name is Glen Waring and I request your vote
in the Republican primary on September 13th for the District 2 Belknap
County Commissioner seat.
I grew up in Goffstown and have lived in NH
all of my life. Currently, I reside in Gilmanton, with my wife and two
teenage sons. After graduating from Goffstown High school, I attended
New Hampshire College (now Southern New Hampshire University) earning a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Accounting.
I began my career as a finance professional at
AutoServ in Tilton. I spent the next 20 years working as a senior level
Finance Officer in the automotive industry for a handful of dealerships.
In 2011 I took my experience and knowledge from the private to the
public sector, becoming Belknap County’s first Finance Director. It was
there that I developed an expertise in municipal fund accounting, a
necessity for proper administration of municipalities in NH. Throughout
my nearly 25 years of professional finance experience I have shown the
ability to create, analyze, and manage budgets in excess of $30 million.
I maintain a high level of attention to detail, cost conscious, fiscally
conservative and bottom line oriented. I understand current obligations,
requirements, and also can use financial tools to predict future
revenues and expenses to plan accordingly.
I would like to emphasize my ability to be
able work collaboratively with all relative individuals in an effort to
maximize efficiencies, and I look forward to being able to work with the
other County Commissioners to continue to find savings and keep our
taxes low.
Due to my 25 years of professional experience
I am uniquely qualified for the position of County Commissioner, and ask
for your vote on September 13th.
Glen Waring, Gilmanton
