There will be
an American Red Cross Blood Drive held on Tuesday, January 13th at the
Pittsfield Elementary School on Bow Street from 3 to 8 p.m. sponsored by the
local Parent Teacher’s Organization. Child care will be provided.
The Red Cross is offering a special this month - “Give A Pint - Get A Pound”
of free Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee when you help save lives by donating blood.
The need is constant - the gratification is instant! Please consider coming
and giving blood at a time of year when needs are generally high and the
supplies are often low. In the new year “Be A Cheerful Giver.”

2009 A New Year
By Ruthi True
As we start a new year here at Out Of Your Attic we want to thank all those
who helped us in 2008 to make it a better year for other people. With the
horrible winter we’ve had so far we are especially thankful to Craig and
Martha Shibles of the Mattress Maker in Chichester for collecting coats for
us for the 4th year in a row. They are great people.
We also want to thank Brenda Butterfield for delivering a load of coats from
the Verani Realty in Concord. They came just in time to help a lot of folks.
When folks work together it really does help a lot of needy people.
We will be preparing for many new challenges in this upcoming year but with
your help and faithful donations I hope we will be able to make a difference
in a lot of local folks lives. It all comes together with your help and our
dedicated volunteers who give so much time to help others.
We’ve had a Christmas break from the thrift shop while all of our volunteers
have had time to have Christmas with their families. We can’t wait to get
back and start doing our projects. If you’ve received a toy or gift you
don’t want or can’t use why not donate it to an organization that starts
working on their next Christmas project Jan 6th, 2009, when we reopen. We
save new items all year so that we can do Great Stuff at the holidays for
those with nothing!!!!
Wish list
1) Scrabble dictionary.
2) Food for homeless.
3) New socks for homeless projects.
If you’re a human resource person, why not call and see what you can collect
from your employees to help us. We help a lot of folks in the Pittsfield and
surrounding areas. We do a lot of local things you never hear about.
