Flea Market Items are wanted to sell under the tent at Old Home
Day on August 15. If you have clean, usable items to donate, please

stored in advance of the sale. Proceeds will go toward the expenses
of Old Home Days 2010.

Motor Vehicle Registration Fees Increase

Effective August 1, 2009, the state portion of
certain motor vehicles will be changing. A surcharge of $30 will be added
for vehicles up to 5000 pounds, $45 for 5001 to 10,000 pounds, $55 for
10,001 to 26,000 pounds and $75 for 26,001 to 73,280 pounds.
The
semi-trailers and auto utility trailers also have changed with a $5.00
increase under each weight category.
Motorcycles now will have a flat
$25.00 fee.
Regarding transfer fees, the state portion has increased from
$10 to $25.
Initial plate fee has increased from $25.00 to $40.00 per
year for new registration and renewals.
Any registrants wishing to
decrease their motor vehicle weight will start with their town clerk’s
office for paper work and registrations must be completed at a state DMV
office.
Boat registrations fees take effect August 28, 2009, with fees
doubling. Lake restoration and preservation fee has increased from $5 to
$7.50. The boat agent fee increased to $5.00.
Chichester residents can
renew their vehicles four months early without the fee increase before
August 1st.
