Chichester Town Library Summer Reading Program
The Chichester Town Library’s summer reading program, Make a
Splash, Read is about to begin.
Please drop in to sign up and start logging your hours
because we have a very exciting program planned.
Once again, we are requiring students in town to
collectively read 5000 hours this summer. If we meet that goal,
Officer Daniel York will take a pie in the face. Whoever reads
the most hours will throw the pie, or choose someone to throw
the pie. Rumor has it that Officer York wants it to be a
Chocolate Cream Pie.
The first event will be at The Woods At Beauty Hill in
Barnstead on Thursday June 24th at 6:30. Wildlife Encounter Zoo
will introduce us to 7 animals from around the globe. Come early
(5:30) to play the I SPY game. Lisa has 18 objects hidden at
each hole of the disc golf course.
Plan on dropping in each week to work on a science
experiment. Local resident, Dylan Dupont, will be setting up a
new experiment each week.
We have also planned a Wacky Science Experiment Night in
July and a Teddy Bear Picnic for younger children in August.
Come in for more details. Our hours are Mon. and Wed.,
2:30-8:30, Tues. and Thurs., 10-1:30, Fri. 1:30-4:30, Sat. 9-12.

The
Cub Scouts of Pack 85 in Chichester were honored to participate
in the Chichester Grange Memorial Day ceremony on Sunday, May
28th. Everyone enjoyed patriotic songs, poems, and a historical
perspective of a Chichester Civil War veteran presented by Jim
Towle of the Historical Society. The Cub Scouts led the Pledge
of Allegiance and placed a wreath at the Veteran’s Memorial at
the Town Hall. The Cubs also visited the cemeteries throughout
Chichester and decorated the graves of all veterans with
American flags. This was a wonderful opportunity to teach our
children about the meaning of Memorial Day.
