Capital Region Holiday Food Basket
Chichester Satellite Location
Preparations are well underway for the Capital Food Program Holiday
Food Basket Project. This is the 40th year the program has helped
local agencies. Each year over 110 tons of food is distributed.
The Town of Chichester is one community that is helped by this
agency. Evelyn Pike is the local liaison for the program and will be
accepting applications from Chichester residents for this plentiful
basket. Applications are available at the Town Clerk’s Office and
must be received by November 25. Call 798-5808 or 798-5550 with any
questions.
Save the dates for the upcoming CYA events. Friday, November 1st, is
Soccer Closing Ceremonies at 6 p. m. Saturday, November 2nd, is
Field Clean-up Day at 9 a. m.
The Chichester Youth Association has teamed up with Live and Let
Live Farm in Chichester for a fundraiser. We have 2014 calendars
available for $15. The calendars will be sold at the Closing
Ceremonies on November 1st.
Trunk or Treat will be held at Carpenter Park on Sunday, October 27,
from 5 -6:30 p.m. Trunk set-up begins at 4 p.m. Electricity will not
be provided this year. Trophies will be given for the best
decorated trunks. There will be a Costume Parade at 6 p.m. and
trophies will be given for the Funniest, Scariest, and Most Creative
children’s costumes.
Chichester Grange is planning a Christmas-themed Penny Sale on
Saturday, November 2, from 10:00 to 12 at the Grange Hall. Numbers
will be drawn at 11:30. Proceeds will benefit the Heritage
Commission’s One Pane at a Time project. If you haven’t been to a
Grange Penny Sale yet, set the date aside and join the fun. Bring
items for the Food Pantry and receive extra tickets. Lunch food will
be available after 11 a.m.
Frekey's Dairy Freeze will be open from October 26 to October 31.
Come over for an ice cream in celebration of Halloween.
Chichester Town Library News
(Week of October 27-November 2)
On Monday, October 27th, the Story and Crafts Hour for
kindergartners and pre-kindergartners continues at the Library at 3
p.m. Parents, give yourself a much-deserved break as you enjoy
quiet time watching your little ones having fun at the Library!
The Down Cellar Writers Group will meet on Monday, October 27th in
the “Down Under” section of the Library at 7 p.m.
Folks may remember the presentation of the movie, “Northern
Trespass,” at the Library in September. To help ensure all
information is available to residents, representatives from the
Northern Pass Project have agreed to meet with interested residents
at the Library on October 30th, at 7 p.m. This is an opportunity to
have questions that may have arisen at the previous presentation, or
as individuals, answered by those involved in the project.
Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News
Thank you so much to the ladies who donated yarn for the knitted
caps for cancer patients. The knitter already made 42 hats and is
grateful.
We had a “first” happen at the Attic- a marriage proposal! He got
down on one knee and she said “yes!” It was quite nice to see
something so special.
We have many new cookbooks and romance paperbacks. Come stock up at
2 for $.25, along with VCR tapes 2/ .25. We have a Graco Pac & Play
and many baby onesies to choose from.
We are 5 miles from the Epsom Circle, next to the Pittsfield line in
the newly renovated plaza.
