The Chichester Library has just cataloged a book on a subject that
many will be interested in reading. The name of the book is
PARENTING IN THE AGE OF ATTENTION SNATCHERS – A step-by-step guide
to balancing your child’s use of technology, written by Lucy Jo
Palladino, PhD. Check the library’s website for hours and come
browse our shelves.
Happy Birthday to Richard Hammond on June 28 and Kyle Menard to June
29.

Chichester Town Library News
Tomorrow at 10:30 a.m., there will be a parent-led Summer Story and
Craft program for young children and table games for their older
siblings.
June 29th is a meeting of the Down Cellar Writers’ Group at 7 p.m.
Local writers and poets are welcome to attend to share their work
and network with fellow writers.
The Library has copies of the books on the Pembroke Academy’s summer
reading list for those Chichester students attending there.
Submissions from Chichester artists are still being accepted for
exhibit at the Library in July and/or August. Please contact Lisa,
the Librarian, at 798-5613 for more information.
The summer raffle items of a Kewpie doll and accessories by the
Library and the Historical Society has expanded to include a
“Precious Moments” doll’s porcelain “Hearts Tea Light” tea set. The
younger set will appreciate the quote on the side of the tea set
box, “A precious cup of tea shared between two friends is so very
precious.” All items will be on display for interested bidders.
Tickets are three for a dollar and the winner will be selected at
the beginning of September.
The survey results for the strategic planning for the Library have
been tallied. One of the results indicated a desire for more books;
however, a particular genre or type of book(s) was not indicated. If
there are suggestions for what kind of book(s) you would like to see
the Library add to its collection, please tell Lisa in person, by
phone, e-mail or even through FaceBook.
Those Chichester residents who still want to have their voice heard
concerning the strategic plan for the Library may still submit a
hard copy of the survey to the Library. Your wishes will then be
tallied in with the results already received.
The Library will be hosting a mini-Farmers’ Market at the August
22nd Used Book Sale. Chichester residents who would like to set up
a vending space for home-grown vegetables, fresh eggs, baked goods
and/or other foods, flowers, cheeses, etc., please call Carol Hendee
at 247-7191. “Grow Local, Eat Local” is a slogan we can
all agree upon!
