Don’t forget the Evening
Book Club will be meeting tonight at 7 p.m. The book to be discussed
is 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, by Jules Verne, and the next book
will be chosen.
This Saturday is a
special day for everyone who knew our Library Director, Lisa Prizio.
She was a welcoming soul who brought so many of us into the fold of
the library and the community. Come join us for “Sharing
Memories of Lisa” at an Open House at the library on Saturday,
October 14th, from 9-12, and share your memories.
On Monday, October 16th,
at 7 p.m., the Lovers of the Chichester Library are to be meeting.
One of the items on the agenda is getting ready for the last
“formal” book sale of the season on October 21st, from 8 a.m. until
1 p.m. The theme will be on the upcoming holidays.
There have been generous
donations of “new-to-us” books over the past month, providing a
broadened selection for our patrons. The last sale brought one
patron a book he had been looking for over months’ time, perhaps
even a year. Think about your holiday gift lists before you
come, to help ease the holiday rush.
Mary Frambach’s art work
will be displayed throughout October and November. Her
generous sharing of her work brightens up our space and provides
visual interest. Thanks, Mary.
Clark’s would like to thank our customers for their patience
during the upgrades and paving of the parking lot.
Veterans Day At Chichester Central School
Attention Chichester
families: Are you a veteran or do you know one? There are
several student groups currently working on ways to recognize and
thank our Veterans. There will be a Veterans Thank-You Breakfast on
Thursday, Nov. 9, at 7:45 AM followed by a morning assembly to honor
our Veterans. Veterans, please contact the school by calling
798-5651 before October 31 so we can include you in our day’s
activities.
You can also help us
honor our Veterans by forwarding a photo that we can include in our
presentation for Veterans’ Day. Please include a caption telling the
person’s name, rank, branch of service, and CCS connection
(grandparent, dad, aunt, neighbor....) to Mrs. Bidwell at
[email protected]. (You can
also send into school a picture.) All photos should be
received by the end of October. We have pictures from a
presentation from three years ago from several students and can
utilize those once again. Thank you in advance for helping us show
our respect and appreciation to all veterans.
