Come to the
Community Supper at the Chichester United Methodist Church at 6 p.m.
on Wednesday, January 10, to enjoy chicken and beef pot pie with
your friends and neighbors. These suppers are free to all. Donations
are gratefully accepted and used to cover the cost of future
suppers.
The Community Design
Charrette Team has exciting news: The goal of $10,000 has been
reached for the Gazebo Fund! The winter months will be used to work
on plans for future uses of the gazebo.
The next meeting of the
Charrette Team will be on Monday, January 22nd, in the Chichester
Historical Society Museum at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend
and bring ideas. With questions and/or comments, call Lucille at

Chichester Grange will
meet on Wednesday, January 17, upstairs in the Grange Hall. There
will be a Soup Supper at 6 p.m. with the meeting to follow at 7 p.m.

We will be open on
Monday, January 15th - MLK day. If you have the day off, stop by
between 8 and 12 to check out what is in our small shop. Bag of
books $1.00; winter hats, scarfs 50¢ each; there are a few ladies
winter boots left; all tablecloths, pillowcases, cloth napkins,
doilies, shower curtains, pot holders, and assorted linens are 1/2
price all week!

What’s better in this
frigid weather than curling up with a good book? Stop by the
library and pick some up! Hours are: Monday and
Wednesday—2:30 to 8:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday—10 a.m. to 1:30
p.m.; Friday—1:30 to 4:30 p.m.; and Saturday—9 a.m. to noon.
If the Chichester Central School is closed because of weather, the
library will be closed.
The library will be
closed on Monday, January 15th, in honor of Civil Rights Day, aka
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
However, the Lovers of
the Chichester Library group is expected to meet on at 7 p.m. on
that date. Members are asked to stay tuned to their e-mail,
FaceBook or other preferred means of communication to see if this
meeting will still occur.
The Knitting Circle meets
this afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
The Preschool Story and
Craft Hour meets tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.
Obituaries
Mitchell Scott Perry
CHICHESTER-
Mr. Mitchell Scott Perry, 42, of Chichester, formerly of Colebrook,
passed away on January 2, 2018.
Born in Lancaster,
Mitchell was the son of Glenn W. and Tracy Ann (Sweatt) Perry.
He was raised and educated in Colebrook and was a graduate of
Colebrook Academy Class of 1994.
In earlier years, he was
employed by Napa Auto Parts in Colebrook and later worked for Ethan
Allen in Beecher Falls, VT. For the past 20 years, he had been
employed as a logger for the Spencer Perry & Son Logging Co. in
Chichester.
In addition to his
parents, Mitchell is survived by two sisters: Tanya Roy and her
husband Jody and Mindy Lynn Perry. He is also survived by two
nephews, Brandon Marsh and Dakota Collins.
At the request of the
family, services will be held at a later date. Assisting the
family with arrangements is the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home
