Getting Ready For Snowmobiling
The snow is almost here and the Fort Mountain Trailwinders,
Epsom’s Local Snowmobile Club is almost ready. With one last big
work weekend, the trail system should be in great shape for winter
recreation. The club will be out on the snowmobile trails finishing
up the trails this weekend. If you use the trails for snowmobiling,
hiking, cross country skiing, biking or hunting, please consider
donating a little time to make them better and safer for everyone.
The Fort Mountain Trailwinders will finish up the work on the trail
between Sanborn Hill and Mountain Road by setting and decking the
last two bridges. A work crew from Mountain Road to Tarleton Road
will make sure that trail is open and safe for travel. A third crew
will work to connect Tarleton Road to the Northwood Lake trail
across Center Hill Road.
The club will also need assistance over
the next several weeks with placing stakes, fencing and signs on the
trails before the ground freezes. If you have some time to spare,
give us a call.
Trail crews will meet at 1628 Dover Road at 8:00
a.m. on Saturday, November 21st and Sunday, November 22nd or you can
call Matt Brown at 736-9975 to arrange another time during the day
to meet up with the crew.
Don’t forget that the Trailwinders are
offering a free, snowmobile safety course for kids on Sunday,
December 13th. For more information, please check the web site at
www.fortmountaintrailwinders.snowslubs.com.
