will be held in the Pittsfield Congregational Church vestry on July
23rd from 3-6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. If you can

In conjunction with the Chichester Public
Library, the Epsom Public Library will host the Memory Café on
Friday, July 8 at 2:00 p.m.. This is an informal, social gathering
for anyone with memory issues and their caretakers. Open to anyone
in the area, the Cafe offers a chance for socialization in a
comfortable setting.
This month’s gathering will include a trip
to the Epsom Public Library Historical Center, located in the former
library building. Refreshments will be served.
The Epsom Public Library Historical Center
is open on Wednesdays, from 6 – 8 p.m. The Trustees would appreciate
volunteers for those hours. Please call the library, if you would be
willing to help.
On Tuesday, July 12 at 1:30 PM the library will be showing the
movie, “The Finest Hours The Impossible Rescue,” based on the true
story of the greatest small boat rescue in Coast Guard history.
When a massive storm hits off the coast of Cape Cod, it rips a T-2
oil tanker in half, trapping more than 30 sailors in the rapidly
sinking stern. As the Coast Guard Captain and his crew set out
in a 12-seat rescue boat, the oiler’s Chief Engineer struggles to
buy his men more time. Amazon says this film is “packed with
heroic larger-than-life action, and driven by the men’s faith in
their mission, themselves and one another.”

If you want to learn about the state’s
biggest trees then be sure to go to the presentation at the Epsom
Library on Wed July 6th at 7 PM. Kevin Martin will be showing and
discussing these trees as described in his new book Big Trees of New

how lumber from similar trees is used in his boatbuilding work, and
how wildlife will use these impressive parts of our landscape. The
discussion will cover trees on public land in all parts of the state

Letter To The
Editor
The summer has been very dry and warm and
moving right along.
As you know, the North Road reconstruction
and paving project is scheduled to start on 25 July, which brings
with it road closures and huge delays for about two weeks.
It would be appreciated if you plan on being either in or out
between 07:30 and 16:30 hours on Monday through Friday, if you live
in between Route 4 and Ox Lane.
On Wednesday, weather permitting, we are planning on shimming from
Ox Lane to Pittsfield, so on that day, please plan on being
gone or in from 07:30 to 16:30.
From Ox Lane to Pittsfield Town Line on
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and you should be able to get
out through Pittsfield.
I understand the inconvenience and do
appreciate some of the logistics and planning you may have to do.
Thank You & Bless You,
Gordon Ellis
