Letter To The Editor
July
11, 2018
Last night the North East
side of town had a wind and rain event and lots of trees were in the
roads and on the wires. Several people came out and cleaned the
trees (not the ones on the wires) and later helped clean up after
the wires were taken care of.
A thank you to to all
that helped! It is nice living in a town where people do help
each other.
We were down on snowfall,
quite short on rain and the brooks are dry, yet it’s going to be a
great “berry” year!
On July 4th there were
thousands of bumble bees and hornets and on the 7th of July there
were thousands of bumble bees, hornets, wasps, and deer flies in the
magnolia trees. Sounded like a huge swarm, which could be heard a
hundred feet away. I wonder what the attraction was!
Paving went very well and
still have some hard work to do and some culverts to replace which
should happen before school starts. It has been too dry to do much
grading.
I am very thankful for
the paving we did last year. It has saved us a lot of time, energy
and money.
Bless you all,
Your Road Agent
Gordon Ellis
PS: Wondering? How many
gallons of water does 1” of snow make per square mile?
