Senior Project Students Team Up With The Tack Shack
Coe Brown
Northwood Academy seniors are required to complete a yearlong
project that must benefit the community or a specific group the
student is affiliated with. Haley Bell and Katherine Cronk have
teamed up this year to organize three specific equitation challenge
classes to benefit the SPCA organization, offered to you at the Tack
Shack Hunter/Jumper Show Series. Each class is open to all riders
who wish to compete in the 18 inch, 2 feet, 3 inch, and 3 foot
heights.
The three day Hunter Jumper Horse Show series dates are
5/28, 7/16 and 9/3. A portion of the proceeds will be donated
to an SPCA organization in New England.
The ribbons that will be
presented were graciously donated by Marybeth Harrison from Centaur
Awards. Any further contributions will willingly be accepted at the
SPCA booth on the show grounds. Both girls have worked hard getting
other students involved in volunteering on the horse show by working
the gate, passing out ribbons and helping to prepare the grounds
before the show. They also held a raffle on the 1st date
(5/28) raising additional monies.
There are another two show
dates to go and the girls are hoping to reach their goal of $1500
with this project.
The first check was presented to MSPCA
with 100% of the profits from the first class being donated.
The check was for $480, along with an additional $50 from the
raffle.
Haley and Katherine would like to thank all of the
sponsors, donators, and the Tack Shack Show management team for
making this event possible.
