LEARN TO RUN!
Do you
think running is too HARD?
Are you
afraid of running in public because you may be JUDGED?
Are you
BORED with your life and tired of having nothing that makes you feel
alive?
Are you
overweight and looking to LIVE healthier but don’t know how?
Running
is hard if you don’t know how; we will show you how to run with
confidence.
Running
makes you feel close to nature and makes running more enjoyable.
You can
improve your health and self esteem through running.
And you
will make new friends!!!
You do
not need to have any experience with running and the only
prerequisite is a desire to learn how! I will teach you how to run
the right way and to avoid injury! Last year’s group had a blast
and finished strong with smiles! Choose your race-Vulcans Fury half
trail half or a fall road half marathon!
I am
limiting the group to 12 people over the age of 18. Before we meet
I will discuss appropriate running attire with you and also discuss
your health.
The
group will meet once a week and we will begin by using a simple
method to improving your endurance. After each run we will have a
group discussion to see how everyone feels and their thoughts on
their experience. You will also receive unlimited email
communication with me to answer questions about your training, a
training plan to help you achieve your goal, I will offer nutrition
tips and give you some motivation. We will have a Facebook page
that will be a closed forum for myself and the group to discuss our
runs, motivate each other or just get to know one another.
I
taught myself to run the wrong way and ended up with missing
toenails, multiple injuries and many days of being sore. I will
teach you how to select a proper shoe for trail running, avoid
injury through training properly and show you how to run well while
having fun! We will discuss topics of your choice and I will share
my experiences with you! I will never make you feel bad and will
make this fun!
Dates:
Week of April 14, 2014-October 18, 2014

Northwood Church Hosts Free Movie Night
The
Northwood Advent Christian Church is hosting another in its series
of winter community events with a Movie Night Sunday, February 9, at
the church,113 School St. This event is free and is open to
everyone. It will start at 6pm. The feature film will be “October
Baby” a film that shares the story that “every life is beautiful”
and has a purpose.
October
Baby is a coming-of-age story of Hannah, a beautiful 19-year-old
college freshman. In spite of her energetic (if somewhat naïve)
personality, Hannah has always felt like an outsider. Something is
missing. She has always carried a deep-seated sense that she has no
right to exist.
When
she discovers she was adopted it comes as a shock, but Hannah’s
world is rocked even more when she learns why she was never told
before - because she was the survivor of a failed abortion.
Desperate for answers, she embarks on a road trip with some friends
(including her oldest and closest friend Jason) to find her
biological mother. In the process she unexpectedly discovers hope,
love and forgiveness. This uplifting and beautiful film may change
the way you look at the world, your loved ones...and life.
Free
popcorn, refreshments will be provided.

“Bootcamp” Raises over $1200
On
Saturday January 18, 2014 Get Fit NH hosted a “Training for a Cause”
event for Friends of Forgotten Children. Over 70 people gave a
minimum of $10 to come in and get a great Saturday morning workout
in, with 100% of the money going to local children and seniors.
“All of
the Get Fit NH family is known for their incredible generosity.
Between Toys for Tots and Get Fit NH’s food drive in December I can
assure you that we made some people very happy this holiday season,”
said Coach Meagan Sbat. “But why just focus on giving in December?
There are 11 other months in the year that we want to give a helping
hand where we can.”
Friends
of Forgotten Children, a 100% volunteer-run provider of food,
clothing and holiday gifts for low income and at-risk individuals
and families, has been serving the greater Concord area since 1972.
Get Fit NH has close ties to Friends of Forgotten Children. Tom
Rochette, who trains as part of the 6:15 Epsom crew serves on the
board of directors at FOFC and has long been a strong advocate for
this incredible organization.
Coach
Meagan continued, “Our goal for this first event was to have 50
people in the gym training.” Friends of Forgotten Children was
thrilled that her goal was well underestimated. “We were overwhelmed
by the number of clients who brought their friends and family. We
had a great time with about 75 people just having a blast sweating
it out and lending a helping hand.”
“It is
awesome to have such great supporters as Get Fit NH, Dean and Nancy
Carlson and their many generous clients and friends in helping
Friends of Forgotten Children raise in excess of $1,200.00 to help
the less fortunate in the Concord area,” said Tom Rochette.
