Kids’ Theater Workshop To Present Bugsy Malone, Jr.
Caleb Molloy appears as Bugsy Malone with Chloe Rattee as Blousey
Brown in The Pittsfield Players’ Kids’ Theater Workshop presentation
of Bugsy Malone, Jr.
The Pittsfield Players’ Kids’ Theater Workshop is once again in
rehearsal for this year’s presentation of Bugsy Malone, Jr., a
riotous romp back to the gangster days of the 1930’s, complete with
zoot suits, fedora hats, flapper dresses, and some really odd
weapons, such as cream pies and “splurgers” that shoot shaving
cream. This year, director Maye Hart has over 45 kids, ages 8 to 18,
in the workshop, and they’re all working hard to bring this
wonderful production to the Scenic stage.
Bugsy Malone, Jr. will run at the Scenic Theater on February 19 and
20 in matinee performances for local schools and home school groups,
and tickets for those two shows must be reserved in advance by
calling 736-9563. The show will also be performed for the general
public on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, February 21, 22, and
23 at 7:30 pm each night. Tickets, which will go on sale this week,
are $10 for adults and $8 for kids under the age of 13. You can
reserve tickets by calling the theater at 435-8852.
The Kids’ Theater Workshop is a program that brings kids into the
total experience of theater arts. They not only act and sing on
stage, but they also handle the set painting, stage management,
lighting and sound for the show. The production is then performed
before other kids from area schools, as well as for the general
public.
Mark your calendars now and call for reservations for Bugsy Malone,
Jr.

Barbershoppers Announce Singing
Valentines
The Concord Coachmen Barbershop Chorus announces booking
opportunities for the 2013 “Singing Valentines” program. Several
quartets, members of the Concord Coachmen, have been perfecting
their harmony skills to deliver this ever popular Valentine’s Day
surprise.
This year, quartets will travel throughout the Concord and
Manchester area, pouring out sweet, tender love songs in close
harmony. The unforgettable memory needs to be booked ahead by the
donor, and will be delivered this year on Thursday, February 14th,
Valentines Day! Although deliveries are often made to sweethearts
at work, home or in local restaurants, families also enjoy
surprising mothers or favorite relatives particularly those alone or
in nursing homes. The popularity of the unique presentation makes it
prudent to book early.
Singing Valentines Chairman Lannie Wood anticipates another
successful year of “Pleasing Sweethearts.”
“Imagine,” Wood states, “from out of the blue, four men dressed in
suits, bearing a beautiful rose appear at your sweetheart’s home or
workplace for this great Valentine gift!
Anyone wishing to book a quartet to sing to your Valentine or
require more information should call: (603) 608-9768 Concord or

TOPS News
Submitted By Terrie Azotea
Well, we had a short meeting this past week at TOPS due to the fog
and ice weather. Congrats to Suzie and Fern for having a tie for
best loser. Kudos to the rest who had a weight loss!
We should be starting a new contest next week because we tend to get
into a rut this time of the year. It’s cold outside to try to get a
walk in and we are just tired and are waiting for some sunshine;
even a few minutes of sun a day just to get that Vitamin D and
rejuvenate our bodies with warmth. I, for one, love to have the sun
beat on me in my car. It makes me think that warmer days are on the
way.
The month of February is one of my favorite months. The days are
getting longer and the sun is warmer and it’s a short month closer
to spring. But we all know what that means, less clothes... Oh my.
If anyone is interested in losing a few pounds before the spring
temps get here or if you would like to get out and meet some new
people, come on out on a Tuesday night. We meet at the St. Stephen’s
Church on Main Street in Pittsfield at 5:30 for weigh in and 6:30
for our meeting. Call Laurel Tiede at 269-8721 or Pat Smith at
435-5333. They would love to answer any questions you might have.
“To create more positive results in your life, replace ‘if only’
with ‘next time’.”
Hope to see you all lighter next week! Have a good week and stay on
track!

I Came; I Saw And I Fell In Love!
Hi, My name is Albert Douglas and I am a candidate for Selectmen for
the Town of Pittsfield, New Hampshire. For those of you who do not
know me, let me tell you a little bit about myself and why I came to
live in Pittsfield. I started coming to Pittsfield in 2002 because a
member of my family was living here and they loved the town. During
those years, I met some real good people and in 2010 I fell in love
and in July of 2011 married a wonderful woman, Bea, who was born and
raised here. We reside at 36 Cameron Drive. Since living in
Pittsfield, I have become a member of the Website Committee, Cable
Advisory Committee, Park and Rec. Commission, the Pittsfield Rotary
and I am treasurer for the First Congregational Church. My hobbies
are golf and I am an NCAA college and high school softball umpire.
My campaign will require a strong and organized grassroots
organization. I have prepared myself for this endeavor and realize
it will not be easy, but I know my passion and motivation will
overcome the difficulties. I will be the first to say I cannot do it
all alone. That is why I am turning to the people who know me best
and inviting them to get involved in my campaign and help me make a
difference.
This is a great challenge I am taking on, but I am
prepared; ready and willing to do what it takes to make the best
decisions and positive resolve for the town in which I love. If you
are interested in helping me and/or if you would like to talk to me,
please feel free to do so. You can contact me at (603) 435-6314 or
by email at
[email protected].
Sincerely,
Albert Douglas
