Derek and Christy Pappaceno of Center Barnstead, NH would like to announce the birth of their son, Blake David Pappaceno.


Blake was born at Frisbie Memorial Hospital on Nov. 28, 2008, weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces. He is welcomed to the world by his parents and big brother Mason.


Proud grandparents include Lynn and Stephen Olden of Farmington, and Sue and Fred Pappaceno of Center Barnstead. Proud great grandparents include Harry and Jeanne Olden and John and Joan Pulsifer of Farmington.
 


 

Men’s Breakfast


Calling all men! The Center Barnstead Christian Church will be having a free Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, December 20th at 7:30 AM. This will be a good time of food and fellowship, as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. There will be a small gift exchange ($5.00 or less) for those who would like to participate. We look forward to seeing you there! The Center Barnstead Christian Church is located next to the Town Hall on Route 126, off Route 28. Christmas Candlelight Service At Center Barnstead Christian Church


The Center Barnstead Christian Church will be celebrating the Christmas season with a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Wednesday, December 24th at 6:00 PM. Everyone is invited to come! There will be singing of Christmas carols, special music, a skit as well as the Christmas message. Refreshments will be served following the service. The Center Barnstead Christian Church is located on Route 126, next to the Town Hall. For more information, please call the church at 269-8831.

 


Obituaries


 

Evelyn R. Tasker


Strafford -
Evelyn R. Tasker, age 77, longtime resident of Strafford, died December 7, 2008, at CRVNA Hospice House in Concord.


Born November 14, 1931, daughter of the late Earl and Mildred (Hill) Corliss, she was a longtime resident of Prospect Hill Farm in Strafford, and most recently resided at Epsom Manor.


Evelyn had a ceramic studio at the farmhouse for years, where she taught ceramic classes. For several years, she served as President of the South Barnstead Cemetery Assn. and the NH State Cemetery Assn. She enjoyed snowmobling, gardening, loved feeding and watching birds and traveling across the country with her husband in their camper to all the United States, including Alaska.


Widow of the late Francis H. Tasker, who died in 1996, she is survived by 2 children: Michael F. Tasker of Strafford, and Barbara A. Geddes of Gilmanton Iron Works; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren;  a sister, Janice Sargeant of Barnstead; also several nieces and nephews.


 A Funeral Service was  held Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at the Third Baptist Church, corner of Route 126 and Route 202A in Strafford, with Rev. Harold Muzzy, pastor, officiating.


Interment followed at South Barnstead Cemetery.

Karl E. Bahr


Barnstead -
Karl E. Bahr, 74, of South Shore Drive, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at Concord Hospital following a brief illness.


He was born in Rochester, N.Y., the son of John and Agnes Bahr. He lived in Hooksett for many years, moving to Barnstead in 1984. He worked as an engineering manager and consultant for most of his life. Following his retirement, he was the building inspector for Barnstead. He was a volunteer at the Mr. Fix It Program in Concord.


He was an avid reader, hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed boating. He also was a furniture refinisher.


He is survived by his wife, Joan (Morris) Bahr, of Barnstead; a son, Eric Bahr of Manchester; a daughter, Heidi Fleming of Hong Kong and Wolfeboro; three grandchildren, Christopher Bahr and Alistair and Abigail Fleming.


A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on  Saturday, December 13, 2008, at St. Katherine-Drexel Church, Alton.


Burial followed in the Riverview Cemetery, Barnstead.
