years. With members from the seacoast and central New Hampshire, the
band plays a mix of traditional and contemporary bluegrass, folk,

band exudes a relaxed and fun approach to their performances that
reflects their long experience.

Summer Reading Program Ending Soon!
The Summer Reading Program "G" Day for Reading"
will be ending soon. Don't forget that your last book must be
recorded By Monday, August 11th! Adults.... the last day to put
that ticket in for the drawing of the beautiful mug made by our own
Teresa Taylor of Salty Dog Pottery is also August 11th.... so hurry
on in and "take a chance."
Our
ending celebration will be at the Barnstead Town Hall, on Thursday,
August 14th at 10:00 a.m. We are very fortunate that our program is
supported in part by a grant from the New Hampshire State Library
and donations from the Byrne Foundation, CHILIS, Cogswell Benevolent
Trust, and the NH Library Association. With the help of this grant,
we are very fortunate to have as our performers this year Steve
Blunt and Joseph Carringer. This will be an hour-long show featuring
the duo working together to give you the best "Australian"
experience ever! You may be "Singing along in the Billabong,
jumping like a kangaroo and laughing like the kookaburra during the
show... who knows what will happen! And let's not forget the
didgeridoo... you are sure to hear a song or two! Blunt is a
Nashua-based singer/storyteller with over 20 years experience in the
arts and education. Carringer specializes on the Australian
Aboriginal-made didgeridoo and operates a harmonic therapy practice
in Portsmouth. Together, they have produced a CD, "Kangaroos &
Didgeridoos: Kid-Friendly Australian Songs & Stories." The two
performers have been selected by the NH State Library's "Kids,
Books, and the Arts" program and are appearing this summer at
libraries throughout the state. More information at:
http://www.stevenblunt.com
and
http://www.didgetherapy.com
Certificates will be awarded at the end of the
program to those who have completed a minimum of 6 books, and
remember, the last day to register a book is Monday, August 11th!
As in all our special events, you do not have to be part of "G"
Day for Reading" to participate in our ending celebration. Everyone
is invited to come!
The OFML is very proud of the over 90 active
participants involved in this year's program and cannot wait to
celebrate their reading efforts at this special ending program. If
you have any questions, please call the library at 269-3900.
