CBCC to CBF
Once again, a group of men from the Center Barnstead Christian Church
will be embarking on an annual short term missions trip/fellowship
retreat to the Children’s Bible Fellowship (CBF) in Carmel, NY. We
already have a dozen men committed to this venture and are seeking to
bring a total of 20 volunteers.
Men, 18
years of age and older, are welcome to come along. We have been asked to
assist with roofing, carpentry and motor pool projects. No skills are
required, as there are crew captains who possess the skills to pass
along to those willing to serve as laborers. This venture is capped off
with an opportunity to share in fellowship while being committed to a
worthy cause.
CBF
provides a safe camping/retreat environment for inner city children and
handicapped children who wouldn’t otherwise have an opportunity to learn
about the free gift of saving grace provided by our Lord, Jesus Christ.
The group will be leaving from the Center Barnstead Christian Church on
Thursday, October 15, 2009, at 5:30 p.m. and will be returning Sunday
evening, October 18, 2009. We are requesting $50 per person to
facilitate fuel expenses to and from CBF, food while at CBF, lodging at
CBF, and a love offering to CBF.
Please feel free to contact Ken Borgia or Charlie Bolstridge at 269-8831
regarding this opportunity, or any other questions you may have
regarding Center Barnstead Christian Church.

Barnstead
Historical Society
On
Thursday, October 22, the Barnstead Historical Society will have the
privilege of touring Doug Towle’s most recent historical restoration
located on Frisky Hill in Gilmanton. The 17th century Farley garrison
house and an 18th century barn are the centerpiece of the property.
There are also a one-room Gilmanton schoolhouse and a water tower to be
seen and explored. If you are familiar with Doug Towle’s previous
endeavors restoring historical properties, you know you will be in for a
treat of historical accuracy and craftsmanship with attention to the
finest details.
For the
tour, dress warmly and meet at the Barnstead Town Hall by 3:20 p.m. in
order to carpool at 3:30 sharp to Frisky Hill, where we will meet Doug
Towle for a 4 o’clock tour. After the tour we will return to the
Town Hall for a pot luck dinner about 6:00 p.m. Bring your own
place setting and food for the table if you can. The evening will
end with a short business meeting and election of officers. Anyone
interested in being an officer should let us know. Nominations will be
accepted from the floor.
As
always, the meeting, supper and program are free and open to the public.
You are invited and encouraged to join us. For more information, please
call Ken Pitman at 269-5692.
