Locke Lakers Social Club News

Submitted By Claire Moody
The regular monthly meeting of the Locke Lakers was held on October 13 at the Lodge. The by-laws were amended to change the name to the Locke Lakers Social Club. Its mission is for the social, cultural and recreational benefit of the members of Locke Lake Colony. It is open to all people who reside or own property in Locke Lake Colony. Please join us for a fun time, with lots of laughs and an opportunity to meet your neighbors.

Due to Lodge renovations, the next scheduled meeting on November 10th will be held at Ann Shea’s house on Dunbarton Drive.  For questions or directions, please call her at 776-0353.  Meetings begin at 10 AM with coffee and social time starting at 9:30 AM.

After the October 13th meeting, members toured the Old Country Store in Moultonboro and then had lunch at the Hart’s Turkey Farm in Meredith. A fun time was had by all.

The September 25th fishing trip was cancelled due to bad weather.

Our latest outing was to the “Quill”, on the campus of SNHU, for lunch, prepared by the school’s Culinary students. After lunch we visited the rotating art exhibit at the campus art gallery.

The group is planning a Sunday Brunch on November 15th at the Wolfeboro Inn, followed by a 2 PM matinee of “Mame” in Wolfeboro. Our own Jon Martin is a cast member.  We will car pool from the Lodge at 11AM, with brunch at 11:30. If interested, please contact Ann Shea.

The December regular meeting will be on the 8th.  Plans are underway for a New Year’s Eve Party.
