New Pastor and Teacher
Submitted By Joyce Beairsto

The Congregational Church of North Barnstead (UCC) will be welcoming the Rev. Nancy Talbott as its new pastor and teacher early in December. Rev. Talbott’s most recent ministry was as Associate Pastor of the First Parish Church of Dover since 2004. Prior to Dover, she served churches in several churches in N.H., expanding  their Christian Education programs.

Nancy earned her Masters of Divinity degree with honors from Andover-Newton Theological School in 2005, and her BS from Franklin Pierce College in 1992.

In a letter to the congregation, the search committee wrote: “In all her ministries, Nancy has cultivated relationships that lift up the spiritual gifts of those she serves. She loves children, has a caring and attentive presence, strength in her preaching, and is creative in her approach to worship, stewardship, dispute resolution and inclusiveness.”

Those of us who met Nancy this summer found that to be in her presence is to experience the joy of God.

We have said our thankful goodbyes to the Rev. Gayle Whittemore who served us well as interim pastor for nearly four years and helped us prepare for Nancy’s arrival.

Nancy and her husband Steve live on a hilltop farm in Epsom, NH, with their dog, Cloe. Nancy enjoys cooking, sewing, reading and gardening.

There will be a formal installation service for Nancy later in the winter.

The Congregational Church of North Barnstead is a member of the United Church of Christ. ‘Whoever you are, wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.’
