Barnstead Old Home Day Will Celebrate The Centennial Of Fire Service The next meeting of the Barnstead Old Home Day Committee is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at Barnstead Town Hall.  As always, anyone interested in helping organize Old Home Day is most welcome at our meeting.

Old Home Day is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2009.  This year, Barnstead Old Home Day will help celebrate the centennial year of organized fire rescue service in the town of Barnstead. If you have any items of historical interest related to our town’s fire service that you would be willing to loan to us for the celebration, we would love to know about them. Please contact Eileen Murley at 435-6692.

In addition to our theme celebration, the Old Home Day Committee is focusing attention on adding activities to appeal to the older kids and teens. Based upon the huge success of the karaoke activity last year, we are certainly planning to bring that activity back! We are also looking at ideas to expand into other music participation activities.

You might want to wear your sneakers this year so you will be better able to climb the rock wall that will return again. And, those sneakers may also come in handy for the basketball-shooting contest that is being added. Each year we try to change things up a bit and to add new activities to keep the day fun and fresh.  We look forward to seeing you at Old Home Day!
