The
Pittsfield Area Senior Center has several special activities coming up
early in November. On Friday, November 5th, the Concord Regional

greeting cards. Bring in cards you have received and no longer
want. We will cut, glue and stamp to make new cards. The
center needs to restock its supply of “thinking of you/hope you
are feeling better” and “get well soon” cards. Come and
bring your old cards to help us create new cards.

Mt. Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Barnstead
Library Offers Fine-Free Months
In the spirit of Helping our
Neighbors, the Oscar Foss Memorial Library is joining forces with the
Food Pantry for the months of November and December.
Instead of any
late fees, we are asking you to donate a non-perishable item to our
Donation Box, which will be set up in the Library at the front desk.
ALL items MUST be non-perishable, MUST be sealed and MUST NOT be
expired. Please check the dates, we would appreciate an extended
expiration date if possible. We want to send only quality, in-date
items which will truly help out a Barnstead family. Jars of spaghetti
sauce, canned fruit or vegetables, pasta, crackers, cereal and more.
The list is endless and there is also a need for toiletry items such as
toilet paper, floss, shaving cream, soap, diapers, Kleenex, etc.
We
are looking forward to helping out the Food Pantry during the Holiday
season. So again, during November and December, we will NOT be
charging any fines. When it is time to return those overdue books,
DVDs, magazines or CDs, just bring in something for the Donation Box.
Also, we hopefully will have a number of our patrons who just donate
items even thought they have no fines. The patrons of the Oscar
Foss Memorial Library are a very giving group; let’s show them
what we can do!
Angel Tree
It Starts With A Gift… It Leads To Lives
Transformed By Christ
Right now, an estimated 1.5 million children have a mom or dad in
prison. The number is huge – but so is the opportunity.
Angel Tree
is a ministry of Prison Fellowship that reaches out to the children of
inmates and their families with the love of Christ. It seeks to
transform the lives of these families and to reconcile them to their
Heavenly Father as well as to each other.
In Matthew 18:5 Jesus said,
“Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.”
Angel Tree provides an opportunity to connect the inmate with their
family during the Christmas season. Through Angel Tree,
these children are able to feel a parent’s love, despite their absence.
Throughout the month of November Center Barnstead Christian Church and
its members will purchase gifts to deliver to the children of inmates in
their parent’s name. If you would be interested in helping provide
gifts for these children or have any questions please call the church at
269-8831. The Center Barnstead Christian Church is located on Route 126,
next to the Town Hall.
Veterans'
Day Programs

program.
Students from all grades will assist to create decorations
for the patriotic event. The assembly will feature the student
chorus, school band and individual original essays. Guests are
invited to enjoy light refreshments and shared hospitality after the
program.
American Legion Post #42 invites all to attend a Veterans
Day remembrance Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 10:45 am. The
gathering will be at the flag pole in front of the Barnstead Town Hall.
We will take the opportunity to remember with pride the heroism and
devotion of veterans who have died in service to our nation; Gratitude,
honor and respect of those who presently serve in our armed forces;
Responsibility and compassion for the care of those who have served.
