Summer Volleyball for girls 6th grade to 12th grade will be starting
July 12th and ending August 16th, Mondays, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the
Parade Grounds behind the Congregational Church on Parade Road.

Leon and
Laverne Bly of Barnstead are proud to announce the graduation of their
twin grandsons, Terry and Gary Allen’s Graduation from West Springfield
High School, in Springfield, Mass. The ceremony was held at the
Springfield Coliseum. Terry will go to college to become an Athletic
Coach and Gary will become a police officer. It was a very happy and
touching moment watching both grandsons receive their diplomas.

Obituaries
Alice Catherine O’Brien
Alice
Catherine O’Brien, age 67, of Oxbow Road in Center Barnstead, died June
21, 2010 at Wolfeboro Bay Care.
Born
November 28, 1942 in Melrose, MA, the daughter of Paul Francis Blackmer,
Sr. and Catherine Josephine (Hogan) Blackmer, she grew up in Somerville,
MA, having summered at her family cottage at the Alton Bay Christian
Conference Center and resided in Barnstead since 1968.
She
loved swimming at her camp in Alton Bay. Alice enjoyed gardening, she
loved birds, especially feeding cardinals and chickadees, she also loved
her animals.
Widow
of the late James Edward O’Brien, who died in 1996, she is survived by
her daughter, Denise Anne O’Brien of Center Barnstead; her brother, Paul
Francis Blackmer, Jr. of Concord; her dog, “Sammy;” and cat, “Black
Kitty.”
A
Graveside Service was held on Friday, June 25, 2010, at New Riverside
Cemetery, in Alton.
