At its 99th
commencement on May 16, Lyndon State College, Lydon Center, VT,
conferred degrees on more than 250 students. One of those was Courtney
Anne Rosemond of Center Barnstead, who earned a Bachelor of Science in
Television Studies, Broadcast News.
Rosemond is the daughter of Stephen and Bonnie Rosemond also of Center
Barnstead and a 2006 graduate of Kingswood High School.

Dave Kelley To Visit Center Barnstead Christian Church
Dave
Kelly, a missionary from Word of Life, will be visiting with the Center
Barnstead Christian Church this Sunday, August 8th. Dave will be
speaking during the 9:00 AM Adult Sunday School Class and during the
Morning Worship time at 10:00 AM. Dave and Sandy Kelly have five
children and have been ministering with Word of Life for 34 years: 17
years in the Word of Life Club ministry and 17 years in the overseas
department, taking young people on short term mission trips. Come this
Sunday and hear more about how God is working in this family’s life. The
Center Barnstead Christian Church is located on Route 126, next to the

Barnstead Summer Concert
Barnstead Summer Concerts continue with Susie Burke and David Surette,
who bring to the stage one of the finest acts on the lively New England
folk scene. Together since 1988, Susie and David have built a steady
following for their own blend of contemporary, traditional, and original
folk and acoustic music. Both are well-respected within the folk
music community, as is demonstrated by the fact that they have appeared
as backing musicians on numerous recordings. Together, they bring skill,
taste, feeling, and pure enjoyment to their music, and are bringing
their music to an ever-widening circle of listeners.
So
bring a blanket, chair, the kids and prepare to dance, sing along or
just chill to the talents of this awesome band! Various local
non-profits will be offering refreshments as fundraisers. Thanks for

Local Barnstead author, Kristina Schram, will be reading
from and signing her young adult, fantasy book, The Chronicles of
Anaedor: The Prophecies, at Barnes & Noble in Manchester, New Hampshire
(across from the mall), on August 19, 2010 at 4 p.m. She also will be
attending Local Author Night at The Toadstool Bookshop in Keene, New
Hampshire, on August 25, 2010, at 7 p.m. Joining her for author night
will be three other local authors, including two mystery writers and a
fantasy writer. Authors will read and discuss their work. All are

Alfred P.
Cardillo
Alfred
P. Cardillo, of Center Barnstead, NH, formerly of Wakefield, died at the
Concord Hospital in Concord, NH, on July 27, 2010, at the age of 88.
Alfred
was born and raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High
School, Class of 1940. He worked as a Manufacturer for the Gillette
Company in Boston for many years before retiring at age 60.
Alfred
resided in Wakefield for most of his life and lived the past 13 years in
Center Barnstead, NH.
He was
a member of the Wakefield Elks for 66 years.
Alfred
was the beloved husband of Dorothy F. (Holland) Cardillo for 43 years;
loving brother of Mildred Connolly and her husband James of FL, Doris
Masiello and her husband Ernest of Melrose, and the late Domenic David
Cardillo, and Eleanor Veerman; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A
Funeral was held at the Gately Funeral Home, Melrose on Friday
July 30th, 2010.
A
Funeral Mass was also held on Friday, July 30th at St. Joseph’s
Church, Wakefield.
Burial
was held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Stoneham.
