Barnstead Parade Grounds
We look
forward to seeing our friends on the green on Saturday, August 25th,
from 9 am - 2 pm.
Come and see Lil’ Miss Witte, a 3 horse power,
1911-1922 “Headless” motor, and the history that it holds. Lil’ Miss
Witte’s new hope and job is to raise awareness and funds for cancer
victims.
Also there will be crafts, quilts, Indian dream catchers,
books, and yard sale items. The American Legion will be there selling
flags. There will be demonstration fiber arts. The Historical Society
will have a display of old pictures of Barnstead.

support these talented people, and enjoy visiting with old friends.

Obituaries
Lea Duhaime
Mrs. Lea
(Giroux) Duhaime, 86, died Monday, August 6, 2012, at her home on South
Barnstead Road with family by her side.
Born in Wauregan, CT on July
15, 1926, Lea was the daughter of Fernando and Albertine (Ferland)
Giroux. She spent many years living in the Suncook area before
moving to Barnstead in 1959.
Prior to her retirement, Lea worked for
Textron in Suncook and then Pittsfield Weaving.
She was the widow of
Maurice A. E. Duhaime who died in 2001 and to whom she was married 52
years. Lea is survived by a son, Daniel Duhaime of Barnstead; a
daughter, Diane Drew of Danbury; 4 grandchildren, Ryan and Dale Duhaime
and Nevin and K. C. Drew; 4 siblings, Rita Viens of Hudson, Lillian
Perkins of Auburn, Fern Paro of Allenstown, and Maurice Giroux of MD;
and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn
Williamson.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 16th at
1 PM at St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Rev. John Loughnane, Pastor
of Our Lady of Lourdes in Pittsfield, will officiate.

flowers, memorial donations may be made to CRVNA Hospice Program, 30
Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH 03301.

Cynthia Holmes
Cynthia (
Walker) Holmes, 71, of Province Road, died suddenly and unexpectedly,
August 8th at her home.
She was born in Concord, the daughter of
Edwin and Rose Walker. She has been a Barnstead resident all her adult
life. She was the widow of Donald Holmes ,who died in 2009 and members
of her family include 3 sons, William Holmes of Barnstead, Jeffrey
Holmes of Manchester and Donald Holmes Jr. of Epsom, 2 daughters, Tammy
Holmes of Barnstead and Cathie Holliday of Dover, 8 grandchildren and 10
great grandchildren.
She cherished the time spent with family,
especially birthdays and holidays. She enjoyed her cats, Bissy and Oreo.
She was a ”bingo” player and enjoyed trips to the ocean. She was
an avid reader and was fascinated with Africa. Her hobbies were
knitting, painting, gardening, cooking and baking and looking for “yard
sales.”
There are no visiting hours. A Memorial Service and
celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 18th at
the family home, 1029 Province Road, Barnstead. In lieu of
flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of
