On December 24, 2013, the Barnstead Parade Congregational Church will be holding a Candle Light Christmas Eve Service at 7 PM. All are welcome to attend. We hope to see you there. This will be a wonderful way to start your Christmas. We must always keep the Christ in Christmas.

The Barnstead Historical Society has a Christmas display at the Oscar Foss Memorial Library. There are some wonderful old pictures of Barnstead. Please check it out - we want to keep our history alive!

Benefit Breakfast Is Huge Success

The Barnstead/Pittsfield community members who sponsored the December 7 benefit breakfast for Toni Arditi would like to thank all those who helped make the event a huge success.  Breakfast was served to an estimated 145 people.  Thank you to all who attended and who contributed their donations to the cause.

Toni, herself, was able to attend, transported from the rehabilitation hospital by wheelchair in a van by her husband, Mike.  She was uplifted and a bit overwhelmed by the outpouring of support by attendees.

Special thanks go to the organizers and workers for the event, including:  Harry Ackerley, Jennifer Beck, April Ellis, Brian Gower and the Center Barnstead Christian Church, Joanne Locke, David Murley, Eileen Murley, Carol Tiede, Dan Ward, and Scott Ward.

It is occasions like these that demonstrate how special life is in these small Lakes Regions communities.

Come To The 2013 Barnstead New Year’s Eve

Milk & Cookies Concert

Don’t miss a really fun event – the Milk & Cookies New Year’s Eve Concert with some fabulous local musicians at the Barnstead Town Hall will be from 7:00-9:15 p.m. on Tuesday evening, December 31.  Chris Bonoli and the Blues Monsters and the PMHS Mountaineers invite you all to join us ringing in the New Year with a 2 hour and 15 minute “Milk & Cookies Concert” along with a “group sing” of the song “America Pie” to end the evening complete with words handed out to everyone! And if concert-goers’ are interested there will be a social time after the concert of about 45 minutes to 1 hour OR maybe even a coffee house to continue the evening.  (Call Chris if you want to perform after at the coffee house.)

Many attendees last year said they were thrilled to celebrate New Year’s Eve so close to home, with some great talent, and arrive home well before midnight!

In addition to her blues/rock band, the host, Chris Bonoli, is pleased to present a performance by some (or all 10 members) of the Prospect Mountain High School (PMHS) Mountaineers, a contemporary folk/rock music group of teachers and students who recently performed at the pre-Thanksgiving PMHS Alumni Coffeehouse and the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony.  Some members include Mr. Carloni, Mr. Gilpatrick, Mr. MacStravic, Mr. Reeves and Mr. Bingham.

Needless to say Milk & Cookies, along with ice cream, coffee, tea and other assorted desserts will be available and served by Congregational Church of North Barnstead with proceeds to benefit the Campers Fund to send children to summer camp.

Call Chris Bonoli at 603-340-1468 or 603-776-3616 to arrange for tickets to be delivered to your home.  Tickets will be $8 per person.
