From The Oscar Foss Memorial Library
The
Trustees of the Oscar Foss Memorial Library in Barnstead are excited to
introduce the community to our new Library Director, Sharon Archambault.
Sharon lives in Lee, NH with her family and comes to us with a deep love
of libraries and a heartfelt commitment to small town libraries in
particular. She impressed the board with her awareness of the library as
it connects to the entire community and its role as a centerpiece of a
town. Sharon presented with the unique skills needed to bring our
terrific library into the next stages of information sharing. “I am
looking forward to meeting the residents of Barnstead. This is a very
active community and I am excited to be a part of it.” She has worked
in libraries in Groveland, MA and Goffstown, NH and received her
Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Rhode Island
in 2010.
We hope you
will stop by the library and introduce yourself to Sharon. Tell her what
your hopes and dreams are for the library. While you are there, remember
to sign the “guest book” for our beloved retiring director, Susan
Conrad. Please feel free to share a memory, story, or sentiment or just
wish Susan well in the next phase of her journey.
So, stop by
and see what’s new, what’s enduring, and why you have always loved
libraries or learn why they still play a vital role in this new
information age. Be sure to “check it out”… Or, as Dr. Seuss has said,
“Oh, the places we’ll go!” See you at the library! Library hours are:
Mon 2-8pm, Tues and Wed 10am-5pm, Thurs 5-8pm, Fri 2-5pm, and Sat
9-noon.

Prayer
Meeting
“The one
concern of the devil is to keep the saint from praying. He fears nothing
from prayerless studies, prayerless work, prayerless religion. He laughs
at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but he trembles when we pray” (Samuel
Chadwick).
The Center
Barnstead Christian Church meets Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM to pray
for the needs in our community, as well as the needs around the world.
We believe whether in good times or bad we need to “come boldly unto the
throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in
time of need.” Hebrews 4:16.
Jesus wants
His church to be a House of Prayer, so with that thought in mind we
welcome people to come and pray with us on Wednesday evenings. If you
are unable to come but would like us to pray for you, visit our church
website http://centerbarnsteadcc.org and email us your prayer request.
The Center
Barnstead Christian Church is located on Route 126, next to the Town
Hall. For more information contact us at 269-8831.
