REMINDER
On the list
of “favorite things,” the Barnstead Parade Congregational Church’s
annual Cookie Walk is Saturday, December 10, 2016, 9 a.m. to noon. Come
visit with us and fill a decorated tin with a variety of delicious
home-made Christmas cookies. What an easy way to bring a special treat
to your holiday gathering—and, of course, you will need a second tin for
home!
The Barnstead Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts would like to thank all
the people who donated to Scouting for Food. We collected over 1000
items for the local Barnstead Food Pantry. Thanks Again!
The Christmas Puzzle
The Center
Barnstead Christian Church would like to invite you to our Christmas
Musical Program, “The Christmas Puzzle”. This musical takes
place at Grandma’s house, where four cousins are snowed in and all they
can find to entertain themselves is an old puzzle. Each puzzle piece
represents a different piece of the Christmas story, and how we’re all
part of God’s picture. Refreshments will follow the performance.
Come and
bring the family Sunday, December 11th at 6:00 PM. The Center Barnstead
Christian Church is located on Route 126, next to the Town Hall. For
more information, please call the church at 269-8831.
Eat Out With Friends
We invite
you to go out for dinner on Thursday December 8th at Johnson’s
Restaurant in New Durham. If you do, Johnsons will make a donation to
the Congregational Church of North Barnstead to fund the steeple
repairs. The more people who come to eat that night, the more money
Johnsons can donate. Ten percent (10%) of the sales that evening will
go to the church.
The
Congregational Church of North Barnstead was built in 1820. Over the
past decade the congregation has been doing project after project –
stabilizing beams, new furnace, a well (thanks to neighbors) and septic
system, rebuild windows, making the building fully accessible and most
recently painting the external walls. We have one last project to join
the 21st Century with style – repair the steeple.
Please come
join us, bring family and friends, and enjoy one of our area’s most
popular restaurants. Many thanks to Johnson’s for making this community
fundraiser possible. And please put this date in your calendar –
December 8th between 5 and 8 pm. Come out to eat, Johnsons will cook,
and the steeple will look great again.
Letter
To my son,
Avery,
Another
year has gone by and it’s five years since you passed. Time doesn’t mean
much to me because I feel like I’m stuck and I keep replaying that
horrible day that you left us. I regret not being in the car with you.
I think
about you and everything we did and I miss you so much. You always were
kind, funny, and full of love.
You are the
best thing that ever happened to me. So when you died, a big part of me
died.
Avery, I
love you and will forever. I’m so proud that you were my boy and I was
your dad. I have some comfort knowing that you knew how much I loved
you. Thanks for teaching me what unconditional love was.
Love,
Daddy

Letter
Avery,
you’ve been gone for five years.
For five
long years I’ve missed you every day. I still say good morning and good
night to you every day.
You always
took care of me. If the deck was icy, you’d say “Grammy, hold my hand.”
If we heard something in the woods you’d say, “Grammy, stand behind me.”
I think it was you that called for help when I had a heart attack and
had a triple by-pass in February. I don’t remember even going to the
hospital. I think you’re still watching over me from heaven. Thanks
honey.
Avery this
year your class will be graduating from the 8th grade. I’d like to go
and watch your classmates. I’m sure I’ll cry a little, because you
should be there and your classmates loved and missed you.
On December
10th we’ll go to the cross and put some flower there. Daddy cleans the
snow around it in the winter and cuts the grass in the summer. This
Halloween he carved a heart in a big pumpkin for you. Daddy’s lonely
without you. We just miss your happy little face.
Much Love,
Grammy
