CYA
Families, please note that the CYA has established a new e-mail
system and will be using it to send mass e-mail blasts out to those
families who are involved with CYA programs. The intent is to
keep families informed of what’s happening with CYA (i.e.:
Registration dates, fundraising events, updates, etc.) If you
are receiving the e-mail and your child is no longer involved,
please feel free to reply to the sender. We feel this will be
a very helpful tool; moving forward in an effort to keep all
families up to date and informed.

Out Of
Your Attic Thrift Shop News Submitted By Carol Hendee
Preparations are underway already for winter clothing needs. We are
low on mittens for all ages and sizes. Hand made or store
bought, we can use any and all.
Just a gentle reminder:
please do not leave bags or items outside the shop when it is not
open. Things have been left that we would have said “No” to
and then we have the task of getting it to the dump. We just do not
have the room to store beds, cannot take mattresses or box springs.
We have lost our regular dump man due to a rotator cuff injury
and have a hard time dealing with what we normally have.
Also, rain has spoiled bags left over the weekend. We do not have
the means to dry things out and it is a loss to someone who could
have used what was donated.
Please stop by to shop or
leave your donations on Mon. 8-12, Tues. and Thurs. 8-4, Wed. 11-4,
and Sat. 10-4 at 345 Suncook Valley Highway, Chichester.
707-7577.
Chichester Historical Society September Program
“Remember Me As You
Pass By”
The Chichester Historical Society will present its
second annual cemetery walk on Sunday, September 11th at 2 pm.
Members and friends of the society will be dressed in period
costumes and will interpret the lives of five distinguished deceased
interred in the Pine Ground Cemetery located on Suncook Valley
Highway/Route 28. Find out more about George P. Haines and his
various business interests; Mary Ordway, longtime postmistress; Rev.
Franklin Parker, and others who will be remembered for their
commitment to and their love of the town of Chichester.
Parking
is “off the pavement” along the highway. Limited parking, for
those with handicap parking requirements, will be in the cemetery.
Some folding chairs will be available on site. Comfortable
walking shoes are recommended. Refreshments will be served at
the Chichester Historical Society’s museum, 49 Main Street,
following the cemetery walk.
The program is free and all
are welcome. If it is raining, the program will be held at the
museum. For information call Lucille Noel, at 798-5709.
