Christmas Bazaar 2012
Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s Club of Pittsfield and St. Joseph
Women’s Club of Northwood will be holding their annual Christmas
Bazaar on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in the
parish hall in Northwood, NH. (Route 4, next to the town hall) There
will be craft items, knitted goods, yarn, beads, books, puzzles, a
white elephant table with some brand new items, raffles, and a bake
sale where you can purchase some homemade baked goods for
Thanksgiving. We will again have our ever popular cookie walk with
some new and different varieties. There will be morning muffins and
coffee and a luncheon served with some delicious favorites. Drop by
for a visit, you will not be sorry.
Don’t forget to vote on November 6. The polls will be open at the
Town Hall from 7 am until 7 pm. Bring your photo ID or allow extra
time to fill out some paperwork. The moderator will also be looking
for volunteers to count votes in the evening after the polls close.
November 10 is Scouting for Food. Please support this project. Your
local pantry will receive a portion of the things collected.
The food pantry is in need of paper products and hygiene items.
The Capital Region Food Project Holiday Basket Project will be held
on December 22, 2012. All interested residents must complete an
application form no later than November 21st at the Town Office
during regular business hours.
A fall volunteer day will be held at
Carpenter Park on Saturday, November 3. Volunteers are welcome from
8 am until 4 pm or any portion of that time. This is a busy time of
year, but every volunteer hour not only improves the park but also
acts as a match for LWCF funds. Please register ahead with Frank
Harrison at
www.webharrison.net/carpenter-park
or call 798-3105, so plans can be made for food and for possible
projects.
Chichester Grange will meet upstairs in the Grange Hall on
Wednesday, November 7. There will be a pancake supper at 6 pm and
the meeting will begin at 7.
Have you had a chance to see Carpenter Park up close recently? A
view from the perimeter trail above the excavation reveals deep
holes and towering piles and gives you a feeling for how big a
project this really is.

We’re in full swing getting ready for Christmas (seems early, but
that’s the only way all the present-bags can be distributed.)
The need now is for sleeping bags, children and adult. There is
always a hope that a shelter will emerge for the homeless but even
with a shelter, people need to carry their covers.
The Baby Threads “Blankets for the Homeless Project” resulted in 37
warm blankets (from monetary donations and actual blanket donations)
being sent to the Salvation Army in Laconia, for which people were
very grateful.
There is also a need for men’s jeans, all sizes and warm winter-type
socks. Men’s winter boots are in high demand. Hygiene products
are also appreciated.
We are located on Route 28, near the Pittsfield line and are open on
Mon. 8-12, Tues. and Thurs. 8-4; Wed. 11-4; and Sat. 10-4. You
can call us at 247-7191.

My name is Dianne Schuett and I hope to represent Chichester and
Pembroke again in the House of Representatives. I served
one term as a state representative in 2009-2010. I was one of
three incumbents in that district who lost re-election for the
2011-2012 term to three extreme conservatives. They proved to
be as radical as we had predicted for our state.
If reelected, I will work to undo the damage the current legislature
has done to our revenue sources; diverting tax dollars from public
schools to private and parochial schools; denying access to health
care, especially for women; tearing down the infrastructure of state
government – attempting to usurp the powers of both the Governor and
the courts.
I retired after working for the House Clerk for twenty-five years.
In all that time, I never witnessed the disrespect and discord that
the last two years have produced. I feel it is vital that we
restore responsibility and civility to our legislature. And if
you agree with me, I ask for your vote on November 6th.

Dear Chichester neighbors:
Two years ago, when I lost my bid for reelection to the NH
legislature, I wasn’t sure I would run again. I am running,
but some ask “why bother?”
I “bother” because many people over the last two years have asked me
to “please bother.” I’m running because of actions and
inactions of our delegation the past two years, specifically their
shift away from jobs and education to a focus on cutting state
revenue by giving cigarette smokers a break while cutting UNH
funding by 50% and a focus on more access to guns, including
on-campus and in the State House.
I’m running to bring back moderation, reasonableness and respect to
our legislature. In my four years, I sponsored very few pieces of
new legislation and not one had a price tag associated with it
(that’s just fiscally irresponsible!). I’m proudest of my
cosponsorship of NH Working with Governor Lynch, with its total
emphasis on jobs.
I ask for your vote next Tuesday. Help me to restore reasonableness,
civility and integrity to our legislature. To serve you, we must
listen with open minds and speak with moderate voices. Remember to
vote. Thank you.

In this most critical election the stakes are high for New Hampshire
citizens and our future. Our current legislators have proven not
that they are job creators, but that their extreme agenda of cuts
have actualized more job losses!
I support Sally Kelly for State Representative because her track
record is one of fairness, listening to constituents and working
across the aisle to promote solutions to the problems NH faces.
In the local NH Senate race I believe that Nancy Fraher will offer
not only a long awaited fresh perspective but common sense, equity
and reason to the senate. She will advocate for the rights of all
working class folks. Conversely, her opponent John Reagan has
aligned himself with, even pledged himself to, the ultra
conservative radical agendas of such groups as Americans for
Prosperity. Nancy Fraher’s record of local service and
negotiation skills will bring prudence and balance to our state
governing process.
Regarding the three constitutional amendments on the ballot,
unnecessary, costly and restrictive, I ask voters to protect the
future options for New Hampshire citizens by firmly rejecting all
three. Vote No on questions 1, 2, and 3!
Sally Kelly makes sense! Nancy Fraher will be fair!
