Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News
Submitted By Carol Hendee
It continues to amaze me what good happens because of donations
people make to the Attic. As a community, we are becoming very good
at "recycling" things we have outgrown, no longer have a use for,
have too many of, etc. Instead of heading directly to the dump,
clothing and kitchen items, sports equipment, exercise equipment,
and baby items continue to come into the shop.
Some of the things that happened in 2011 with money raised from your
donations include: 348 backpacks filled with school supplies; 61
birthday kits; 50 Thanksgiving baskets and 50 boxes of food to the
homeless; 107 totes, foot and leg warmers, puzzles, and pillowcases
to a nursing home; 20 blankets for Pet Shelter (we can still use
more for this cause. It doesn’t matter the condition, the dogs and
cats just want something soft to lay on.) Finally, our biggest
achievement: 564 layette bags for newborns.
Stop in to buy or donate on Mon. 8-12, Tues. and Thurs. 8-4, Wed.
11-4, Sat. 10-4 at 345 Suncook Valley Highway, Chichester. Our phone
numbers are 707-7577 or 247-7191. If it’s bad weather, call and make
sure we’re open.
