The Pittsfield Rotary Club has donated funds to the Chichester Town Library to purchase books for all babies born of parents residing in Chichester in 2012. The Pittsfield Rotary mission is to promote reading for parents and young children. The Chichester Library is pleased to be able to offer these books for the new babies. Parents are encouraged to stop by the library and pick up their books.

Chichester’s Old Home Day will be Saturday, August 18th. As a fundraiser for next year and an enjoyable activity for this year, there will be a Two Pound Raffle. Items weighing two pounds: flour, sugar, pasta, potting soil, bird seed, etc. will be displayed in wrapped packages. Raffle tickets will be sold and folks can put their tickets on a tempting item. Numbers will be drawn in the afternoon and winners will go home with a useful surprise. The Old Home Day Committee is requesting items to make this raffle a success. You can drop it off at Frekey’s Dairy Freeze during open hours, and the OHD Committee will wrap it later. Ask someone at Frekey’s if you need more information.

Happy Birthday to Richard Hammond on June 28, Kyle Menard on June 29, and Karen Michael on July 4.

Now would be a good time to make a donation toward the fireworks at Old Home Day. Donations may be mailed to Carol Frekey-Harkness, 97 Suncook Valley Road, Chichester, NH 03258.

There will be only one meeting of Chichester Grange in July. That will be the annual Eat-Out on Wednesday, July 18.

Submitted By Carol Hendee

Summer has arrived! We have things you need: Shorts for women, men, boys and girls; tank tops; bathing suits for all ages; sandals; cool cotton dresses for women; priced at $1.00 and up! If that isn’t low enough, on Thursday, June 28th (last Thurs. of the month) everything is 1/2 price!

We may still have three leather Men’s XL motorcycle jackets from a very generous donor.

For the knitters, we have a new shipment of yarn.

A summer volunteer has put up new pictures on the walls and taken down the ones that have been with us for awhile. Nice change of scenery.

Come visit on Mon. 8-12, Tues. and Thurs. 8-4, Wed. 11-4 and Sat. 10-4 at 345 Suncook Valley Highway, Chichester. Call us at 247-7191.
