Well, it’s time to think about back-to-school clothes, etc. We do
have sweatshirts and hoodies for all ages. Let us know if you think
we should put out winter jackets, boots, etc. Maybe it’s time
for hats? Or, do we still need the shorts and tees? (my hope
for sure!) We have a few lunch bags and water bottles.
Don’t forget this month has two days of half-price sales: Saturday
the 25th (super special) and the last Thursday of the month August
30th.
Baby clothes are in good order and supply and children’s books will
be two for 25˘ for the rest of August.
We are on Route 28, near the Pittsfield town line. We are open
Mon. 8-12, Tues. and Thurs. 8-4; Wed. 11-4 and Sat. 10-4. We will be
closed Monday, September 3rd for Labor Day. You can call us at
247-7191.

Chichester Central School News
The summer weeks have gone by quickly and the staff is looking
forward to welcoming back all of the students for the 2012-13 school
year. The last few months have been busy with several classrooms
being painted, the roof receiving some repairs, two bathrooms
upgraded, the grounds getting a “sprucing up”, and a whole host of
other activities taking place in preparation for the students
returning on August 29th. All students should have received a
“welcome back” letter from their homeroom teacher which listed the
necessary supplies for the start of the year.
The official start of the day will be 8:20, which is a change from
8:25. Although there will be a supervised area in the building
between 8:00 and 8:13, parents who are dropping off are asked to do
so as close to 8:10 as possible. Please make sure to check the bus
routes as there have been some minor changes due to the new start
time. There is no change to the end of the day; dismissal will be at
2:40. The lunch price for this year will be $2.50; $3.50 for adults
wishing to enjoy a fine meal in the middle of the day.
Before and after school care will be provided by the New Morning
Program. On Thursday, August 23 from 6:30-7:30 pm in the gym,
representatives from the program will be available to meet with
parents to discuss what New Morning offers, the payment rates, to
register children, and answer any and all questions. Students in
grades K-6 are accepted on a full and part-time basis with no
minimum number of days required during the school year.
Incoming kindergartners are invited to ride the bus to school on
Tuesday, August 28th. The bus will leave the town hall at 9:00 for
the am class and 10:00 for the pm class. Students with a parent will
be greeted at the school. After a 45-minute stay to get acquainted,
the bus will return to the town offices. On that same day, all
incoming first grade students may visit their classroom from
11-11:45. The PTO will be hosting the Back to School Barbecue on
Wednesday, September 12 at 5:00. The annual Open House will
immediately follow the barbecue from 6:00-7:00 pm.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back. Enjoy what remains of
the summer!
