Chichester Town Library News

The featured artists at the Library for the month of November will be members of the Photography Group.  A reception for them is being planned for Saturday, November 21st.  Please come in throughout the month to see the fruits of their labor.

Preschool and kindergarten age children will enjoy stories and crafts tomorrow, Thursday, October 29th, at 10:30 a.m.

Friday, November 6th at 6 p.m. is the initial “Star Wars” weekly screening and activities at the Chichester Central School, 219 Main Street.  This first screening will also include arts and crafts, along with some type of involvement of The Phantom Menace.  All fans are welcome, and children under the age of six must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  School Librarian Kate Dockham and Chichester Librarian Lisa Prizio have teamed up to bring fans up-to-date and to have fun before the seventh episode is released in theaters.

So many programs and activities have been planned for the enjoyment of residents.  We know those who attended the Jim Barnes performance enjoyed themselves and we’re glad they came.  On the heels of that, on Saturday, November 7th at 7 p.m., at the Grange   is the one-woman play, “Granny D: The Power of One.”   Again, there is no cost to the public.  If you are interested in politics, the political process or the passion of this noted woman, please plan to join us.

Another upcoming program is on Saturday, December 5th at 1 p.m., when the Pontine Theater will present a family-friendly performance of two works, “The Christmas that Almost Wasn’t” by Ogden Nash and “Christmas Monks” by Mary Wilkins Freeman.  Please put it on the calendar, since this is a busy season.

The Library wishes all a fun and safe Halloween.
