Granite State Crush Girls 6th Grade AAU Basketball Team is looking
for a few players to join our team. We practice Mondays
at 6pm and Sundays at 2pm at Chichester Central School.

Town Meeting will be Saturday, March 14, at the school beginning at
10 a.m. Please plan to be a part of your town government this year
by attending this annual meeting.
Chichester Grange will meet on Wednesday, March 18, at 7 p.m.
upstairs in the Grange Hall. Carolee Davison is in charge of the
program, and Linda Booth is in charge of refreshments.
Letter to the Editor
Everyone is busy, yet all of us owe it to ourselves to attend, at
least in part, Chichester Town Meeting - March 14. Important
Warrant Articles will be decided, in particular:
6. (Capital Reserve Fund) - Annually we approve the budget, usually
with amendments, then we ADD a figure to include all items listed
for this fund. All towns need this to budget big ticket expenses,
to minimize huge fluctuations. But remember, it’s adding another
$130,000 to the already approved budget, $105,000 of which goes
toward the already combined ambulance and fire budget of $194,355
for a town of 2,500+/-.
11. (municipal budget committee) - it boils down to “Do you want
seven (7) individuals to determine YOUR Town budget? This would
nearly cripple taxpayers from changing the recommended budget
brought to Town Meeting by limiting changes by only 10%. We all
know what happens when the CCS budget is stagnant and our
infrastructure (roads) is neglected, even if the tax rate decreases.
12. (Selectmen to appoint the Highway Agent) - I do agree there
should be qualifications since road construction requires knowledge
and know-how AND as long as the governing body is completely
OBJECTIVE. Humans being humans, this is not an easy task to
accomplish. As always, our current road agent is perfectly capable
of carrying out Town objectives. If and when he chooses not to run,
perhaps then, residents should ask candidates specific questions
about their skills, education and experience to determine who is
qualified. Furthermore, all candidates should be up front and
provide all pertinent information relating to their qualifications
for any office.
As a member of Capital Improvement Program when asked to recommend
repealing Impact Fees, I agreed only if assured that a new building
permit fee structure were implemented to replace the said impact
fees.

Chichester Saturday Town Meeting Details
To the Residents of Chichester:
YOUR annual Town Meeting will be held this Saturday, March 14th at
10:00am at the Chichester Central School.
Due to a lack of parking at the school, there will be shuttle
service from the Town Hall beginning at 9:00am and every fifteen
minutes thereafter until 11:30am. Shuttle service from the School
to Town Hall will begin at 12:00pm and every fifteen minutes
thereafter until the meeting has vacated. We are also encouraging
attendees to carpool and there will be sufficient reserved parking
at the School for all handicapped attendees.
A light lunch will be offered as a fundraiser for the Suncook Valley
Police Explorers. The Explorers are part of the Daniel Webster
Council Exploring Department and includes young persons interested
in Law Enforcement. The local post is a joint collaboration of the
Chichester and Pittsfield Police Departments. Please support these
future officers as they receive training in different areas such as
handcuffing procedures, motor vehicle stops, defensive tactics, and
participation in such statewide activities as the Police Cadet
Academy.
The Board of Selectmen wish to thank all the residents whom have
attended meetings and participated in the budget process during the
past few months.

Chichester Town Library News
The Pre-school Story and Craft Hour will meet tomorrow, March 12th,
at 10: 30 a.m.
The volunteer adjunct to the Library, the Lovers of the Chichester
Library (LOCL), will meet on Monday, March 16th at 7 p.m. This is a
very active group that: works on keeping the “Down Under” section of
the Library in some semblance of readiness for book sales; helps
with programs and activities of the Library; and assists in other
ways, as needed. Come join us!

Chichester Central School Students Jump For Their Hearts And
Help Save Lives
Students at Chichester Central School are jumping at the chance to
fight heart disease and stroke, our nation’s No. 1 and No. 4
killers. On March 20th, 2015 CCS will host its first annual Jump
Rope For Heart event to raise money for the American Heart
Association, which funds lifesaving heart and stroke research and
community and educational programs for our youth.
Jump Rope For Heart teaches students how physical fitness benefits
the heart and shows them that volunteering can be a fun and positive
experience for the whole community. The need to educate children
about the importance of physical activity couldn’t be timelier.
According to recent studies, about one-third of children ages 2 to
19 are overweight and obese.
“By including physical activity into their daily routines, kids can
significantly reduce the onset and burden of heart disease,” said
Christine Mondor, local American Heart Association representive.
“By raising money through Jump Rope For Heart, we are preventing
heart disease and obesity for the next generation of Americans. Kids
are literally jumping into a heart healthier life while becoming
passionate about raising money for other kids with sick hearts.”
For 36 years, millions of students have jumped rope and learned
about heart health and how nutrition and physical activity can help
prevent heart disease and stroke. Jump Rope For Heart is
co-sponsored by the American Heart Association and SHAPE
America-Society of Health and Physical Educators.
