The Northwood CrankPullers Snowmobile Club will be hosting a
Snowmobile Safety Course for ages 12-15 at the Lake Shore Farm (275
Jenness Pond Rd, Northwood) on Saturday, November 12th from 8 am to
3 pm. Lunch will be provided. To register, contact Jeremy DeTrude @

Soccer Awards Night is Wednesday, November 2nd, at 6 p.m. in the
Chichester Central School multi-purpose room.
On November 8 voting at the Town Hall is from 7 a. m. to 7 p.m.
Absentee ballots from the Town Clerk are available up to November 7
at 5 p.m. If you are not registered to vote you can register
to vote and vote the same day. Please bring proper ID to register.
You will need a photo ID in order to vote. If you have
any questions, call the Town Clerk at 798-5808.
The office of the Chichester Town Clerk
and Tax Collector will be closed on Election Day, November 8.
The Chichester Youth Association needs
volunteers for the Board and other positions. There are two open
Board positions. Jennifer Cassidy will complete her term as
President after six years on the Board. Joe Strazzeri will move from
Vice President to Baseball Commissioner. We need two people to
volunteer to fill the CYA Board of 5 members for 1/1/17. If there is
not a full Board as of 1/1/17 then CYA will have to be dissolved.
The CYA is also looking for the following positions to be filled:
Softball Commissioner, Soccer Commissioner, and Equipment Manager.
Please contact someone on the Board if you have any questions or
would like to volunteer.
Roast Pork and Rice Pilaf will be served
at the Community Supper on November 9 at 6 p.m. The Community
Suppers take place at the Chichester United Methodist Parish Hall on
Main Street on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. The meals
are open to all and are free, although donations are gratefully
accepted and used to pay for future suppers. Come and enjoy good
food and fellowship with your friends and neighbors.

Hello November! Holidays rapidly approaching... Check our
supply of table cloths, table runners, knives, forks, spoons,
serving dishes, toasting glasses, and even a couple of turkey
platters!
People are asking for blankets (any kind.) Winter hats are
out, as well as jackets, and boots.
We are on Rte 28, 5 mi. north of the Epsom Circle, in the plaza next

An Educated Choice
I am writing in response to Gloria
Andrews’ letter about Dr. Darren Tapp, candidate for NH House of
Representatives in Merrimack, District 20.
I work with, and have befriended, many
people attracted to NH by the Free State Project, just as Dr. Tapp
was. My impression is that “free staters” are diverse, share
“can-do” attitudes, have strong problem-solving skills, and believe
in active citizenry. They are far from homogenous.
Dr. Tapp has unique specialties in
education and mathematics, in which he holds a Ph.D. He promotes
out-of-the-box education and improves learning for local children
and adults. Darren is willing to volunteer his time as a legislator,
and I’m grateful to him and to all who are willing to serve.
In my opinion, Dr. Tapp is not “stealth” about being a “free
stater.” He learned of the high quality of life here, researched it
for himself, and became a local homeowner many years ago. I found
that same quality of life as a student in 1995 and became a “local”
upon graduation. I thank my alma mater for introducing me to
NH and I thank the FSP for doing the same for those it has inspired
to make NH their home. I don’t usually discuss what brought me to NH
and don’t find it odd when others don’t either.
I urge my fellow Chichester/Pembroke
voters to review their candidates with discerning eyes and avoid
being swayed by scare tactics. I am voting for Dr. Tapp on November
8th, and hope you will join me.

Editor
A friend of mine and former colleague is running for State
Representative, and I would like to share with you why I think he
should be your chosen representative. Darren Tapp and I met
several years ago while working at Hesser College. Knowing
Darren on a professional level, I can share with you what kind of
leader he will be for you.
Darren has repeatedly demonstrated that he is wholly dedicated to
every endeavor he embarks on. As his supervisor, every
suggestion I gave him, every task I asked him to complete, was done
immediately and with full effort. He was my most reliable and
dependable faculty member – I knew I could count on him regardless
of the situation.
At Hesser, Darren was involved in many college organizations.
As Chair of the Faculty Council, Darren demonstrated strong
leadership, making sure to attend to all the current issues facing
the college faculty. While on the Faculty Development
committee, Darren took the initiative to do what was in the best
interest of the college and its students by writing a letter
fighting to promote a highly dedicated faculty member who was denied
promotion. This resulted in the instructor being promoted.
I personally served on the General Education committee with Darren
and noted immediately that he is an active listener, working
collaboratively to meet the needs of those involved.
As your representative, I know that Darren Tapp will always have
your best interest in mind. He will listen carefully to your
concerns, and he will come up with proposals that take everyone’s
best interest to heart. He will take the initiative to fix a
wrong, and he will work with others in the state government to come
up with the best possible outcome for the people of New Hampshire.
