The Chichester
Methodist Church will hold their Christmas Eve Service at 6:00
Saturday evening, December 24, 2016. Our Sunday Service will be at
10:00 am on Christmas Day. Come and join us to celebrate the birth
of our Lord.

trimester. at William Carey University. President’s List scholars
have a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

We have received a
donation of ski boots, excellent condition, sizes men’s 7 through
10, too. Two pairs of skis and a 110 snowboard w/bindings. We also
have a few pairs of ice skates, snow pants, and winter scarves, too.
Remember, 1/2 price day
this Thursday the 22nd; a few Christmas pins are left as well as
ornaments, etc.

Chichester Public Library News
The holidays are upon us
and all of us associated with the library wish all of you wonderful
holidays! For last minute stocking stuffers or gifts, come visit
the Library/Down Under Bookstore to pick up some gift certificates
or “good as new” books. Just see anyone on the library staff when
you come in.
The Knitting Circle meets
today at 3:30 p.m.
Tonight at 7 p.m. is the
evening book group, discussing Gaining Ground, by Forrest Prichard.
Bring the kids to the
library on December 30th from 2-4 p.m., when first graders to middle
schoolers are invited to join others at the library for “Games
Galore.” Games will be available at the library; or, if a family
has a gently used game they would like to donate to the library, it
would be welcomed. Sign-up is requested, so that the appropriate
amount of snacks will be available.
The library will be
closed on Saturday, December 24th ; Monday, December 26th; and,
Saturday, December 31st.

January 7th for the Pontine Theatre presentation.
Pontine Theatre At Chichester Library
For the third year
running, the Chichester Library is pleased to sponsor the Pontine
Theatre’s New England Christmas. This year’s presentation is
scheduled for January 7th at 7 p.m. at the Grange Hall, 54 Main
Street in Chichester. The production is an adaptation of Frank
Stockton’s 1895 Christmas story, Captain Eli’s Best Ear.
Cap’n Eli Bunker, a
retired sea captain and lonely widower, is inspired to try his hand
at celebrating Christmas once again. After much thought, he talks
with his friend and neighbor, Cap’n Cephas Dyer, to determine how to
bring about a fitting holiday event. An orphan girl and Mrs.
Trimmer, whose husband “sailed away in a schooner and never
returned,” fill out the cast of this charming tale.
The characters are played
by a cast of beautifully crafted bunraku-style puppets created by
Pontine Co-Director, Greg Gathers. The production is performed by
Pontine Theatre’s Marguerite Mathews and Greg Gathers. All who have
attended in the past two years have truly enjoyed the puppeteering,
puppets and scenery. Join us for some mid-winter fun.
