Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News

Remember, this Sunday, March 27th, is Easter!! Come pick up a fuzzy stuffie bunny, chicken, or duck or some other Easter decoration (we have a few baskets left).

Then we are on to Spring!  We have some garden statuary (needs painting), so you can get an early start on garden decor.

We still are receiving requests for men’s jeans 32-36 and long men’s shorts (like basketball length).  If you are cleaning out your book cases, we can use a new supply, books have been leaving rapidly, so glad people are enjoying them again and again.

Chichester Town Library News

Not all non-fiction books are textbooks and heavy reads.  The Library purchases a variety of them and some are even fun to read.  We’ll be highlighting some of these non-fiction books in future submissions.  In the meantime, come into the Library to see what’s on hand.

The Library also has quite a selection of donated magazines for the public’s reading pleasure.

The regularly scheduled story and crafts time for preschoolers, kindergarteners and their parent/caregiver will be tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.

The Down Cellar Writers meet on Monday, March 28th, at 7 p.m.

The Photography Group will also meet on Monday, March 28th, at 7 p.m.

It’s almost time for the “organized” used book sales to begin.  If you are Spring cleaning and want to recycle some of your books, please consider donating them to the Library for the Down Under Book Sales.  Many a great book has been enjoyed by many through this venue.

Letter To The Editor

It’s no surprise that the taxpayers didn’t vote in favor of Warrant Article #15 to pave Hutchinson Road. The heightened awareness brought to lack of attention to gravel roads in town made this a ‘win’ and worth all our efforts.

It is unfortunate that we pay the same tax rate as other citizens on paved roads and yet cannot live the same quality of life without much controversy and a majority vote. I was approached by other residents who live on our gravel roads and have some of the same concerns. To those residents... I’m happy to share what I have learned through this process - email me! Also, I encourage you to attend RAC and BOS meetings to share your concerns on record.

A special thanks to all the neighbors on Hutchinson Road who dedicated their time and efforts! Congratulations on our ‘win!’

Letter To The Editor

It’s no surprise that I wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your support during Chichester’s 2016 Town Election.  Tom Jameson won the Selectman vote with 42% and best wishes to him.  You helped me obtain a respectable 24% of the vote!  That’s a very good showing for a first-time runner, especially since there has not been a female selectman candidate for decades.

Thank you to all who offered encouragement to run, advice, letters of endorsement, campaign sponsorship, sign placement, supportive emails and phone calls, and on election day, your votes and words of enthusiasm to run again, if not elected this time.  I am not giving up the ship, so stay tuned.

Ann Davis
