Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News

Submitted By Carol Hendee

We like to play “what is it?” when we do not know what an item is or used for.  Need your help with this. We have several black and white framed photos of theater/opera people. We do not know who they are.  They are autographed for a person named Charlie.  If you know who they are and what they are worth, please stop by.  We also have a great double jogging stroller capable of carrying two 100 lb children!  Spring merchandise is popping out!

We are on Rte. 28, 5 mi. north of the Epsom Circle, Chichester.  Mon. 8-12; Tues. & Thurs. 8-4; Wed. 11-4 & Sat. 10-4.  247-7191.

Chichester Town Library News

Readers might want to cut out this article.  The Down Under used book sales have now been scheduled for 2016.  All will be held on a Saturday, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.  Although many, if not all, will have a theme, the dates are provided below, with the themes that are currently proposed:

April 16th: “Shakespeare and Other Great Books/Authors”

May 21st:   “Annual Plant Sale and Gardening”

June 11th:  “Yard Sale”

July 16th

August 27th:  “Farmers’ Market”

September 17th

October 15th

April is shaping up to be a busy month at the Library.  April 10th – 16th is National Library week, and we are planning to celebrate it in various ways.  As always, there will be an interesting display, or two, at the Library.  In addition, every person coming into the Library to look around can enter a raffle for a gift certificate from Dominick’s Pizza, Pasta and Things to be awarded at the end of the week.  (Raffle entries for this group are limited to one/person per day.)  An additional raffle ticket will be given to those who get a Library card while visiting.  And, the receipt of a raffle ticket will be extended to those who “Like” us on FaceBook during that week.

The regularly scheduled story and crafts time for preschoolers, kindergarteners and their parent/caregiver will be tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.

The Down Cellar Poets will be meeting on April 4th at 7 p.m.

The Book Club will be meeting on Thursday, April 7th at noon.  Bring your lunch and enjoy some great conversation.

The Adult and Teen Craft Group, who will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 11th, will be learning how to make soap.  Others are welcome to join this group; however, registration is necessary, since there is a limited number of openings.  A small fee to cover the cost of materials will be charged.  Call the Library at 798-5613 to register and/or to ask questions.  You can also e-mail the Library at [email protected].

Every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., the Knitting group meets at the Library.  Here is a great way to learn a new skill and hobby, refresh your previously learned skills and/or just keep a marvelous art alive.  Bring your own project, new or old.

Chichester School Meeting- 3/5/2016

Went to the Chichester School Budget hearing on Saturday, March 5, 2016. After the union thugs did their test vote (65 voters school/21 voters taxpayers) (did not seem like there were over 86 people in the gym) and saw they had the majority, they went on a spending spree and rehired a teacher they did not need.

If the taxpayers want to regain their rights of Wealth and Property and be represented instead of plundered, we need to stand up to the plate and demand SB2 be implemented on school and town budgets so everyone has a chance to vote on the school and town spending, without fear of reprobation because you dared vote against the union and factions in town and you voted for the private citizens’ property rights to keep their money for their family needs instead of the school and town’s demands.

“Where an excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly respected. No man is safe in his opinions, his person, his faculties, or his possessions.” James Madison Carl Dow
