Thanks to those who stopped by at Old Home Day to view the
documentary and to pick up their ingredients for s’mores. It
was wonderful to see all of you.
Don’t forget the Summer Reading Program extravaganza is Friday,
August 26th, at 7 p.m. The main venue has been changed to the
Grange. Winding down another season of fun and reading for all
who participated, there will be games and activities from a by-gone
era, a scavenger hunt and an ice cream social.
Raffle prizes will also be presented.
We congratulate the two winners of the paper airplane tournament.
Rivkah Valley won for the 0-6th grade entries and Robby Shaw for the
7th grade and up. They each took home a prize of $15, thanks
to an anonymous donor.
The Down Under Book Sale is this Saturday, August 27th, from 8
a.m.-1 p.m. There are two themes: one is the more
obvious of “Back to School,” while the second is the adult version
of “Planes, Trains and Automobiles.” In addition to excellent
resources for home-schoolers, the vintage table will feature
“readers” of previous generations. This sale also incorporates a
Farmers’ Market, cosponsored by the Grange and the Library from 8
a.m. to noon, rain or shine, in the Grange parking lot.
Stop by the book sale and then venture on up to the Grange to
explore what’s available from the market.
Thursday, September 1st at noon will be the monthly meeting of the
Book Club. We’ll be discussing The Ocean at the End of the
Lane. Even if you’ve never come before, you are certainly
invited to join us. Bring your lunch and be ready for great
conversation.
