Chichester NH News

January 9, 2019

The final count for Chichester Grange’s Socks for Seniors 2018 collection was 165 pairs. This number well exceeds last year’s count, so give yourselves a big pat on the back. Again, thanks to The Attic Thrift Shop and the Chichester Town Library for serving as drop-off spots. We’ll be collecting again in the fall of 2019.

Happy Birthday to David Hammond on January 13 and to Carolee Davison on January 15.

Chichester Town Library News

The Knitting Group meets on Wednesday afternoons, at 3:30 p.m.  Pick a project, whether for yourself or others, and bring it to the library to knit with a group of knitters of all skill levels.

Patrons are always welcome to come and avail themselves of the various activities in the library, but Tuesday mornings at 10:30 have been set aside for coloring, coffee (or other beverage) and conversation.

Toddler Time is also on Tuesday mornings at 10:30.

This evening, Wednesday, January 9th, the Evening Book Group will be meeting at 7 p.m. to discuss The Elegance of the Hedgehog, by Muriel Barbery.  The main character of the novel is a middle-aged, widowed concierge of some refinement and intelligence who hides these qualities.  Why she has chosen that path, and her interactions with the residents of her building, particularly a twelve-year-old, precocious girl, are all part of this international bestseller.

The Memory Café is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday, January 14th, at the Epsom Library.

Monday, January 14th, the Board of Trustees will be meeting at 4 p.m.  This is a meeting that is open to residents of Chichester and patrons of the library.
