To The Editor
Editor: We are writing in support of
Representative Tony F. Soltani’s election to the New Hampshire
House. We have known Representative Soltani for approximately
thirteen (13) years and have the highest regard for his integrity,
honesty and his commitment to his community.
He was previously a
member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives and he worked
tirelessly to represent the towns of Allenstown, Epsom, and
Pittsfield. In his career as a state representative he had reached
many milestones which had not been met by our previous
representatives for decades. As a member of the New Hampshire House
leadership team, Representative Soltani has made Allenstown’s voice
well heard and our concerns addressed. He understands our community
and was always responsive to all those who would seek his assistance
with several state bureaucracies.
It is without reservation that
we urge our fellow voters, regardless of party affiliation, to cast
their ballots in support of Tony during the primary on September 14,
2010. In light of the disasters of the past four years in the
absence of Tony from the House of Representatives, we need Tony back
now.
Sincerely, Diane E. Chisholm Glenn T. Chisholm

To my constituents in Allenstown, Epsom, & Pittsfield: My
committee on HB42, establishing a state meat inspection program, met
again in August for the last time. We had agreed last fall that this
program was worthwhile, since it created a new market for farmers.
It looks as though the start up costs will be less of a problem than
we had thought, since a private source of funds has turned up to
help, and a law student has volunteered to draft some preliminary
rules based on the language we have developed to date. I will be
co-sponsoring a bill based on this study for next year.
The
subcommittee on licensing is continuing to analyze all the licensed,
certified or registered professions. The more we look into it, the
more professions seem to be regulated, and the more questions we
have! It’s interesting because the other members of the committee
have different ideas than I do as far as licensing, but we tend to
agree on which professions have old or obsolete laws or awkward
regulatory structures.
Anyone interested in what’s going on at
the State House is invited to email or call me; those who’d like a
more detailed report than I can fit in The Sun should email me for
my newsletter.
Let me know if you want a McGuire sign for your
front lawn!

It’s one thing if you’re losing income because you don’t know what
you’re doing or your customers can’t stand you. But it is Greed and
nothing more than that. Unitil is deciding to milk all of its
customers, poor and rich alike.
It doesn’t make any difference
to them in the exact way our government doesn’t give a hoot about
milking us except that they are getting the cream at the top. Now
come the vomit- ious part of this pig story. Unitil et al want to
increase its rates because of “sinking revenue.”
I wonder if Tom
Frantz , director of the electric division of the PUC would
voluntarily provide its customers with the following relevant
documentation. 1. Records of profits for the last four years to
include that period for which Unitil is begging. 2. If different
than # 1 copy of Federal filings for that same period. 3. Evidence
of employees who were laid off beginning 01 -01-2006 to and
including 08-07-2010. 4. Any wages frozen for the last two years. 5.
Steps taken to eliminate waste.
