Local Concord Area Fitness Center Missing Clients As Contest Ends
Epsom, NH Based Get Fit NH Watches The Equivalent Of 5 People
Disappear As Clients Lose 679.2 Pounds In 7 Weeks
Get Fit NH, recently voted the Best Gym in Concord for the fourth
year in a row, just finished their annual “Sizzlin’ Summer Slimdown”
body transformation contest, and the result was their clients losing
679.2 pounds – the equivalent of five people’s body weight.
Congratulations to Lori, Sue, Carol, Andrea and Colleen of Team
Buttercups (as in “Suck It Up Buttercup”) for being the winners of
the 2013 Sizzlin’ Summer Slimdown. These ladies formed a team and
over 7 weeks carved off 51 pounds. Lori, who lost 8.75% body weight
said it was tough but worth it. “I had the support of Team Buttercup
and the Get Fit NH coaches. The weekly habits I learned will help me
to keep the weight off.”
“If it was easy to lose weight we wouldn’t be in the middle of a
growing obesity crisis in this country.” Nancy Carlson, head coach
of Get Fit NH Epsom says. “Seeing each of our training classes
support each other as we learned new habits designed to get and keep
the weight off was incredible. Having that network of support makes
it easier to keep going when discouragement or complacency sets in.
Our clients are amazing.”
Get Fit NH upped the incentive further this year with a prize
package that included custom training gear, massages from Peace and
Balance Body Therapies, a gift basket from Baked Downtown Café and
Bakery, gifts from Nike and Hood Dairy. Get Fit NH also provided the
winners a gift certificate to shop at the Concord Coop.

Chairman, Friends of Epsom’s Historic Meeting House Committee
I would like to thank everyone who was involved with Epsom’s
Historic Meeting House project for your encouragement and support.
You have given your time and talents to successfully preserve one of
Epsom’s most valuable historic landmarks.
Through the years you have donated hundreds of hours going to
meetings, applying for grants and working on the building and the
grounds. There have been times of disappointment and discouragement
because we had not been able to move along as fast as we had hoped
to, but we kept the dream alive until our charter ended. Now we have
to pass the project over to the Select Board to be completed.
I would also like to thank the group of individuals who took over
the work. They spent many hours over the last few months studying
the needs of the town office, and developing a plan that will
provide adequate office space for years to come.
The group will be presenting its proposal to the Board of Selectmen
on July 8, 2013 at 7:30 pm. Everyone is encouraged to attend this
meeting and see how we can develop the Meeting House into our New
Town Office Building. Thanks to all.
