Epsom Food Pantry
Well, another busy week
at the Pantry. The Scout garden is about finished and the Girls
shared the wonderful pumpkins they grew with us.
I must tell all you
wonderful folks who have blessed us with money how sorry I am that I
have been unable to send out thank you notes, but I have an illness
in my family and my time is occupied with my home duties. So, to all
who have sent us money and to the folks who have brought us food, on
behalf of Ken, Liz, Cheryl and our wonderful volunteer staff, we say
thank you so much.
Thanksgiving is just
around the corner, be sure to sign up at the Pantry if you want a
turkey. Liz will be looking out for a count before you know it.
A special thanks to June
and Eve who have stepped up to help us out many times.
For some reason one of my
articles went astray and I want you all to know that the Nam Knights
of America with Mike Dempsey at the front supplied us with an
incredible amount of food. And again, St. Andrews Church in
Pittsfield donated to us. But, in spite of all donations, we have a
100+ families to serve, so it is all used believe me.
Until next time,
Priscilla
Letter To The Editor
Hardly a week goes by
without a story in the news of a squabble between elected town
officials somewhere in New Hampshire. A common theme of these
stories usually involves a Selectman or City Councilor with a
personal agenda that he or she puts ahead of the best interests of
the community with the residents paying the price for the fallout.
Seven months after being
elected as a Selectman in Epsom, I am pleased to be able to report
that Epsom is not one of those towns. One needs to look no further
than the two men who serve with me as Selectmen, Hugh Curley and
Chris Bowes, to understand this. Both of these men are relatively
new residents to Epsom and both men have as their only agenda doing
what is best for the residents of our town. We do not always see eye
to eye on all issues that come before the Board of Selectmen, but
disagreements are settled with respect and propriety.
For me, it is a pleasure
to serve with these dedicated public servants. I hope that the next
time that you bump into Hugh or Chris you thank them for their
service to our fine community.

Letter To The Editor
WHERE
did the summer go…..
Well, part of it went on
to Goboro Road, Highland Drive and Oak Ridge Drive! It went into
Swamp Road and Mountain View!
We will be ditching and
grading starting in mid-October.
Also, just before Old
Home Day, Advance Excavating & Paving worked on the Webster Park
Road by grinding, grading & compacting and also graded in some MgCL
. They did a nice job and the work was donated to the Town, which
was no small sum. Thank You Advanced Excavating & Paving!
Bless You.
