Epsom Library is hosting  Liz Barbour of Creative Feasts on Tuesday, July 21 at 7:00 pm.  Liz will be presenting “Feasting With Vegetables: Eating Within the Season”.  In this program she combines her love of gardening and cooking in a program designed to inspire you to eat what you grow.  After a slide presentation of her cottage vegetable gardens, she will be cooking two vegetable recipes.  She will also demonstrate several cooking techniques that will help you to prepare vegetables that are cooked well and seasoned perfectly every time.  Anyone who attended her “Feasting Through Literature” program last year will attest to her skills and the flavor of her foods.

Because she will be cooking for us, sign up is required so there is enough food for everyone.  Sign up at the front desk or call the library at 736-9920.

Epsom Food Pantry

Good afternoon everyone.  Today is another sunny day and all the veggies  are growing like mad.  The wonderful garden behind the Food Pantry is about ready to share the harvest.  Ken tells me it is looking just super. One lady just told me over the phone that the Girl Scout garden looks a lot better than hers.

I want to thank Sarah Harkness for her work on the scrapbook for our Pantry, getting it started and on its way.  I now need another volunteer to continue Sarah’s good work. Just call me and I will give you more details.

Another word of thanks to the Werner sisters who faithfully send us a donation, and of course all the thoughtful people who donate to our food boxes around town, we say many thanks.

We do not supply all the food folks receive, but we serve an important part of this life that is a must. We also try and have some items not always found in pantries that add a little zip to their meals.

Until next time,

Priscilla
