The Pittsfield High School Class Of 1966 50th Class Reunion
will be held in the Pittsfield Congregational Church vestry on July
23rd from 3-6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. If you can

On Wednesday, June 22 at 1:30, the library will be showing the
movie A Life of Music, based on Agathe Von Trapp’s autobiography,
Memories Before and After the Sound of Music. Agathe, the eldest
daughter, embarks on an adventure filled with remarkable twists and
turns, joys and disappointments as war encroaches upon her family
and friends. However, there was always the saving grace of music.
While it hasn’t felt very summerlike, it’s
time to look forward to good reading, entertaining presentations,
prizes, and FUN. Sign up for the Summer Reading Programs starting
Monday, June 20. Be sure to pick up a book at the circulation desk
that explains things planned for this summer.
Springfield College has named Marissa
Kibbee of Epsom to the dean’s list for academic excellence for the
spring 2016 term. Kibbee is studying Health Science/Pre-Physical
Therapy.
Criteria for selection to the dean’s list
requires that the student must have completed a minimum of 12 credit
hours of graded coursework for the semester, the student must not
have any incompletes in the designated semester, and the student
must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.50 for the
semester.

Summer Reading Program
2016
The Library invites children in grades K-5
to register for the 2016 Summer Reading Program, “On Your Mark, Get
Set… Read” The program begins July 11th. There will be a variety of
activities at the library including arts and crafts, movies, raffles
and special programs. Children need to register for the program at
the library beginning Monday, June 20th. Each participant will
receive a schedule of events and a reading log. Young children and
their families can sign up for our “Early Literacy” program! This
year we are offering a program for teens called “Get in the
Game…Read.” Teens are invited to sign up at the library and keep
track of their reading during the summer and the library will offer
movies, programs and raffle prizes especially for teens. Library
hours are Mon-Thurs. 10-7 and Sat. 9-1. The Summer Reading Program
is sponsored annually by the Children’s Librarians of New Hampshire
and it encourages youth of all ages to read for pleasure during
summer vacation.
*Monday, June 20th & *Tuesday, June 21st
6pm “Teen Dance Off” competition featuring the popular dance
program. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. After
the workout we will have pizza on Monday night and subs on Tuesday
night. Please sign up at the library circulation desk or call Vickie

Obituaries
Ernest L. MacLeod
Epsom – Mr. Ernest L.
MacLeod, 62, an Epsom resident for the past 7 years, died Thursday,
June 2, 2016 at the Concord Hospital.
Born on October 16, 1953 in Bath, ME, and
raised in Maine, Ernie was the son of Ernest and Ruth (White)
MacLeod.
He joined the US Navy during the Viet Nam
War and later spent 30 years as a rigger, working for Louis Cote
Millwright and Rigging Company.
Ernest was a hunting and fishing advocate
and made it his life’s work to make his wife and family happy.
He is survived by his wife, Linda
(Pitcher) MacLeod of Epsom; 2 children, Tammy Gilbert of Goffstown
and Francis Gilbert of Manchester; 2 grandchildren; 5 brothers; 6
sisters; many nieces and nephews; and a good friend Bill Campbell.
Family and friends gathered on Wednesday, June 8th at the Still Oaks
Funeral & Memorial Home in Epsom. Services took place and were
followed by burial in NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.

Mary E. (Fife)
(Witham) Gammon
EPSOM - Mary E. (Fife)
(Witham) Gammon, 97, passed away at her home on Thursday, June 2,
2016.
She was born in Epsom, on November 25,
1918 to Fred and Ernestine (Montminy) Fife, where she grew up and
attended school. She began her career as one of the first of four
women to work at Sprague Electric, and then went on to serve most of
her working years employed with the State of NH as an Office Manager
for the Highway Department and the Department of Records and
Archives, from which she retired.
She wed her first husband, Ned Witham in
1935 and was married to him until his passing in 1971. Together they
had her only child, Shirley (Witham) Williams born in 1936, who
passed well before her time in 2012. Mary wed her second husband,
Francis Gammon in 1973, and became a widow again in 1978.
She most enjoyed entertaining people
whether it be with her daughter, Shirley, as part of a singing
Vaudeville act; playing the guitar, piano and accordion; or simply
by telling inappropriate stories and jokes to her family and
friends. Other interests included caring for her beloved pets,
summer activities at Lucas Pond and Northwood Lake, puzzles and
beating her grandchildren at cards and board games.
Even through her last moments she kept her
strength, wit, young-spirited heart and mind and most of all the
love for her family and friends. She leaves behind her two
granddaughters, Liane “Tina” Alosa of Allenstown and Gina Alosa of
Pittsfield; three great grandchildren, Sara Alosa Tremaine and her
husband, Scott of Concord, Courtney Perkins of Providence, RI and
Shane Perkins of Pittsfield; four great great grandchildren, Mikayla
Magnell, Devan Bousquet, Jillian Magnell and Lexie Magnell all of
Concord, and one great great great grandson, Shane Miller of Concord
and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial were held
Tuesday, June 7th in the New Rye Cemetery with Rev. Jim Young
officiating.
