The Epsom Public Library
is having their annual “Polar Express Event” on Friday, December 7th
at 6 pm. Come decorate cookies, enjoy the Hot Chocolate/Coffee
bar courtesy of “White Mountain Coffee,” and watch the movie! Join
us for the fun, wear your pajamas, and don’t forget your
pillow/blanket. Please call the library at 736-9920 to make a
reservation!
“Destination Wedding” is
the movie selected for the movie matinee at the Epsom Public Library
on Wednesday, December 5 at 1:30. Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder star
in this smart, intimate modern romance. They meet on the way
to a destination wedding and discover they have a lot in common:
they hate the bride, the groom, the wedding and each other.
But then they find that if you verbally spar long enough, anything
can happen. They have to decide which is stronger, their
hearts or their common sense.
The Epsom Boy Scout Troop
80 is happy to announce that our 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting
will take place on December 8th at Webster Park. The festivities
will begin at 3:30 with the arrival of Santa followed by childrens
crafts, snacks, and hot cocoa. The tree will be lit at approximately
5:00. This event is free to all. The Epsom Cub Scouts will be
collecting canned items to be donated to the Epsom Food Pantry. We
will also have a collection point for new, unwrapped toys to be
donated to the Epsom Police Association toy drive. Bring your camera
for photos with Santa and join us to celebrate the holiday season.
Any questions please email Kelly at
[email protected]. We hope
to see you December 8th!
“Temperature And Time” At The Epsom Public Library
The Epsom Public Library
is pleased to host an exhibit of the work of young local artist,
Andrew Dixon.
Entitled “Temperature and
Time,” the show features bright abstract oil paintings and, in our
display cases, a selection of stunning glass pendants.
Of his work, the artist
says: “I try to put as many contrasting colors into my work as
possible, while maintaining a simplistic style.
Most of my paintings have
no subject matter, but have a focal point and foreground to give the
perception of depth. The glass work I do consists of necklaces
and ornamental marbles with bright colors and semi-precious or
lab-made stones encased inside.
What inspires me most is
seeing pieces from other artists who have been working for many more
years than I have; that maintains my desire to learn.”
This colorful exhibit
runs through January 5, and may be viewed during regular library
hours; Monday-Thursday, 10 am to 7 pm, and Saturday, 9 am to 1 pm.
All are cordially invited to meet the artist at a public reception
on Saturday, December 8, from noon until 1 pm. For more
information, call the library at 736-9920 or visit
www.epsomlibrary.com.
