The eighth grade class of Gilmanton School will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner featuring your choice of Meat Sauce or Marinara, Garden Salad, Garlic Bread, Homemade Desserts and choice of drinks, on Tuesday, March 22nd from 5:00 - 7:00 pm in the school cafeteria.

The cost is $6.00 for students in Grade 6 through adults, and $5.00 for Senior Citizens and students in Grades K-5.  There is no charge for children under age 5.

The class has been working hard all year to raise funds for their class trip to Montreal, Canada.  We appreciate all your support in their fundraising efforts.

Letter To The Editor

Dear Editor:
This request to correct the record may seem to indicate that I am against the Gilmanton Library, which I am not.

On March 2nd, a letter requesting the support of readers for a warrant article in the Gilmanton Town Warrant for funding of the Gilmanton Year-Round Library was published in this paper, and my name was listed among the signers of the letter.

Although I am the Selectman’s Representative to the Gilmanton Year-Round Library Board of Directors, I was not a signer of that letter.

Betty Ann Abbott
Chairman, Board of Selectmen

GCC Food Pantry And Thrift Shop News

The GCC (Gilmanton Community Church) Food Pantry and Thrift Shop will be continuing the BAG Sale through Saturday, March 12th.  Come in and browse around our very well organized thrift shop and we are sure you will want to fill a brown paper bag for just $10!  We continue to add many new items each day in every department, so if you were in a week or two ago, come on back and check out the new items.  The items are selling fast so don’t hesitate another minute.

We will be continuing our “Winter Wear” collection all year long.  We are asking for winter jackets, snowpants, boots, hats and mittens for our “Adopt-a-Child” program.  We are collecting items in sizes from infant to adult.  Please bring in your new items for donation to this wonderful program.  We will also accept very gently used items that are clean and in excellent, wearable condition.  You may drop off items at the shop during our regular business hours.

The food pantry, which is open to Gilmanton residents only, is open during the same time as the Thrift Shop, with additional hours on Saturdays from 8 to 10 am.  If you would like to make a donation to the food pantry please bring your items in during regular business hours.  If you would like to make a monetary donation you can mail it to GCC Food Pantry, PO Box 6, Gilmanton Iron Works, NH 03837.

If you are a family in need of assistance please call Jane at 364-7437 or the church office at 364-7891 or just drop by the pantry.

We are easy to find.  We are located right on NH Rt. 140 in Gilmanton Iron Works, across from the Iron Works Market, and parking is located in the church parking lot.  We are open on Monday, 9am – 1pm, Wednesday, 3pm – 7pm, and Saturday 10am – 2pm.  Hope to see you soon!!

Please note that on March 12th the Food Pantry and the Thrift Shop will be closing early at 12pm.  Thank you for your understanding.
